Dan, I have chassis 1076. I looks like you and I are the only ones that have a glove box. You are quite a bit ahead of me--great job by the way--and I was wondering if you have mounted your wiper motor yet and if so where/how did you mount it? I just recvd. my glove box from HM. Ron sent me the alternate mounting instructions which mounts the wiper motor on the driver side foot box and then drill a hole through the firewall and feed the drive portion through and assemble the rest under the cowl. I was wondering if you had found a better way. I would appreciate your input. Thanks.

Hey Sam, thanks for the support.  I am not putting wipers on my car.  I can register it here in FLA without them.

Sorry I can't be of any help.

Ok. Thanks. I have a couple of ideas, but will have to wait until I take the body off. I'm doing a lot of the body work first and then will get on with the "real work".

Driveshaft is in. Got it from Inland Empire Driveline. Great guys. Opted for the aluminum with 3-1/2" diameter to handle the horses. I was gonna go with Denny's but they are on vacation from July 4th to the 23rd. IEDS had it to me in 2 days. Very quick and great quality.

ALso bought another jack. It is pricey, big and heavy but will fit under the car and it reaches more than 1/2 way under the car. Northern tool is the place. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200329613_200329613

I also went the same route as Chris Doss for my remopte oil filter adapter. I had to shave some off of it, but it fits great and I don't have to worry about it hitting the frame. Thanks Chris.

Great job, its really look nice.

Can you tell me a bit more about your Wheels and Tire combo? Price to if you can recall.
Have you had the body on yet to see what they look like as far as fit and where the tire is in the well?
Thanks Randy

That driveshaft is really a work of art! I may have to go the same route when I buy mine.

Randy,
I went with vintage wheel works wheels. The vintage 60 GT with knock off. Knock-off set was $240.00
http://www.vintagewheelworks.com/products/wheels/v60
Rears
Rim 17 x 11 w/ 4" BS $250.00
Tire 315/35/ZR17 Sumitomo HTR Z $96.00

Fronts
Rim 17 x 9 w/ 4" BS $235.00
Tire 275/40/ZR17 Sumitomo HTR Z $85.00
They look like they will be fine on clearance but I haven't put the body on yet.

The reason for the 9" front and 11" back is that most tire manufacturers insist on at lease a 9" rim for a 275-40-17 tire and 10.5" for the 315/35/17.

Hope this helps.

Phil,
How about this coming Saturday morning. I'd love to get a ride in your car and have you look at mine.  I'm in Tampa all week at a Managers meeting so no work on the car until Friday night.
I'll e-mail directions to you.
