Just an FYI. I talked to Stewart and he says he's trying to get a truck up there the 28th. I told him if he could pick mine up and get it to me by the 1st or 2nd I'd use him. Otherwise I'm throwing my trailer behind my truck and headed north about 12 hours. Last time I used Stewart their truck broke down on the east coast and I had to wait an additional 6 weeks. That wont happen again!

Bruce, My son and I drove from DFW to Lake City, IA and BACK in one trip to pick up ours .... in 26 hours.    Pulled a 16' tandem axle trailer with my 2002 Toyota Tacoma.

Yea I'm thinking my daughter and I gonna make the trip. We were looking forward to a road trip and change of scenery! Stewart said he would do it for $700 which is pretty good deal but I'm thinking more and more  I just wanna get outta Dodge!  I've traveled for work (Military and Civilian) most of my adult life and am going absolutely bonkers being locked down this last year Maybe come back down through Missouri and Arkansas and do some trout fishing

Think I'm going to try out the Stainless break lines. They look incredible when all polished up. Made this bender from some screen door rollers and some scrap metal laying around. Bends the 3/16 like butter. Waiting on some 37% AN fittings to try out the flare. I'll make a 3/8 and see how it works on the fuel lines.

I've seen that one before and when it was completed. While you're at it, might as well get you some polished stainless steering u-joints and steering shafts...how many more ways can I help spend your money...haha

finally getting started! Spent most of Sunday trying to organize a little bit. Spent tonight trying to get the chassis ready for powder coat. I wanted to clean up the brake line routing a bit so tig welded some thick wall tubing through frame at strategic places to route the brake lines. Tapping them 1/8-27 NPT for 1/8 to 3AN fittings. Also did not really like the rear line on the axle, so re routing that through each side of frame and across the rear support tucked up in the middle. Got most done but still need to complete tapping everything. Tomorrow is another day Have powder coating scheduled for Friday so a bit of time to finish things up.

LOL. I'll give you a shout when I get my parts back from coating and start assembling. Gonna be a non productive weekend ( except getting caught up on mowing that I skipped last weekend ) Hopefully have everything back mid week.

  After doing some assembly on HM2032 (powder coated frame), I would suggest you go review the masking plan with your powder coater.  I know it is a trade between masking labor and clean-up labor.  I am having to do a lot of paint clean-up from critical mounting surfaces.  I would have never been able to sell my customers product that they had to drill or grind before assembly.

Where are you having the powder coating done?  I have headers and side pipes that will need high temperature coating.  What is the plan for yours?

Also,  did you see Bob's announcement for Saturday's Cobra Club meet-up?

Hey Jim. Yea, unfortunately that's a chore that needs to be done weather you paint or coat. I just plan on running drill bits through all mounting holes. Just a nature of the beast Much easier to clean them out than trying to mask inside bolt holes. I put dummy bolts in the threaded holes before I take them to them. I'm having my chassis and a few of the other loose parts done at a local guys shop. Precision Powder Coating. Just a little one man shop down the street in Crandall. I've used him a lot and is always fair and dose a good job. I'm trying to find someone to ceramic coat my headers but I'm waiting till I get them in and test fit first. I did not see Bobs post on the Saturday gig, but unfortunately, I'll be spending my day in the hot sun trying to get caught up on the pastures. Being gone last weekend and skipping a week is not a good idea when its wet like its been. My yards like 10 acres of rain forest

My powder coating got delayed due to waiting on a bracket that Hurricane forgot to weld on. So after doing chores I figure Id go ahead and get the brake lines bent up to save time later. Got the front finished up and hopefully have time for the rear tomorrow. I'll polish them up during down time waiting on coating. The stainless worked out well. The flaring tool from Eastwood makes it a breeze. But if you make a mistake in the bend (as I did plenty) you have to start from scratch with a new piece. It will try your patience

Way to make the most of the delay!  I like what you did with your brake lines so far.  That is a clean in/out transition with that bulkhead.
