Nice job, the reason I kept my spine low and not much up top is that I thought it might interfere with some work from below. There is some room to move side to side though.

Yea its hard to envision just exactly whats best. I did not glue the top plywood braces in case I need to remove and shape differently or make other mods. I'll just have to see once I get the chassis on it. Easy to modify if need be. Thanks for the measurements

Think I found the stripe highlight color I like. Hard to tell under the LED shop lights what it truly looks like. And I may cut it down to 1/8" as opposed to this 1/4". For just a very subtle highlight on the stripes. If the sun ever comes out I'll take some better pictures   Think I'm going to change up the stripe layout a little from the norm and do more like a Chevelle SS stripe where they stop on the front cowl and short of the windshield. Also on back I'll probably stop just below trunk lid. Just to change it up a bit. I have never really been a fan of the constant stripe from one end to another. I just like to be a little different

LOL. Body & Paint kind of my thing. My first job in high school was at a customizing shop specializing in Corvette after market parts and customizing. Spent first two years laying up fiberglass parts before graduating to the body and paint side. Worked for another 5 years in a couple different restoration shops until I had had enough and joined the Military. Body and paint is not easy work but I really enjoy it now as a hobby. Especially customizing. Still learning all the new paints but can get a pretty decent final product, even with painting in a garage with a couple fans. Cant wait to get my hands on this thing Guess that customizing background is why I'm always trying to make it different than the rest

man for what I see people paying for paint jobs I'd be driving in gelcoat to if I couldn't do myself! You can check mine out when done and see if its worth a few weekends of beer and BBQ

I have had past experience with the process of bodywork and painting cars from a hobby stand point. After going through the processes I totally understand why custom shops charge what they do. Most of the work and labor is in the bodywork process to get everything to fit together before the paint goes on. When all said and done no-one will know you spent an entire weekend to get the door to align up with the rest of the body after it is painted. However they will know if you only spent 20 minutes fixing a mold seam. The paint will only enhance the defects not hid them.

Looks beautiful! I thought about a color similar to that but have always liked blue and never done a blue car for myself for some unknown reason. figured the Cobra was the perfect choice to go for it

Looks like you are off to a great start! I ordered last September and was delivered February still waiting for Wilwood brakes and some etc. Hope yours goes smooth!

Thanks Jim. I see your up in McKinney. Bunch of builds in the area looks like. I'm just south and east of Kaufman a bit. I saw another new build going to Granbury, and of course Bob over in Midlothian. We will have to keep in touch when we start building Cant wait!

Yep, anyone in the north Texas area needs any help, just let me know ~  I've about seen it all, and already made all the mistakes!       We need to have  Texas Hurricanes gathering
