Dan, looks very nice and you've made a few unique mods. Couple of questions:
1. What's the trap door for in the trunk floor?
2. I like how you ran your throttle cable rather than a big loop in the engine compartment, but how's your pedal effort? I'd be concerned that the tighter bends might make for harder pedal effort.
3. I saw two filters/breathers in your trunk. One's for the tank and is the other for the differential?
Again, very nice job - but I gotta say, that single brake pedal sure looks lonley.

Thanks Matt.
1-The trap door is so I can get at the fuel sender and fuel lines. I ran a feed and return line set up with a lot of fittings and wanted to make sure I could get at them.
2- Pedal effort is OK.

I'd suggest cleaning the rust off of the shifter and get it looking how you want it, then shoot it with a
clear coat of Krylon, or something along those lines... I did an Intake manifold on a BBC I had way back when... I glass beaded it, looked as good as new, then shot it with a few coats of clear. After that, anytime anything got on it, I could just wipe it off.

Thanks Ron, I'll try that.

I've been meaning to put the link to my first and last go cart ride so here it is. I took it out a week ago, it needed some tuning as it was way too rich, you can see fuel mixture coming out of the sidepipe when I put it in the garage.

I took it easy in the neighborhood so I didn't "totally" upset the neighbors.

I put the body on this past weekend. It is pretty tight now that I have everything bolted down.  The panels are next. Pictures to come soon.

Enjoy

UPDATE:
1- Car went to the body and paint guy yesterday afternoon. Hope to have it back by Thanksgiving to go to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona.

2- Just finalized insurance with Midwest Classic Insurance. Best rate I could find with a very large "agreed value" and 5000 miles per year. Robbin was great to work with. Give him a call.

Next steps, DMV- Hopefully it goes as smooth as Phil's did.  I'm trying to get a vanity plate that reads "HOLD ONN"

After I get the car back it's off to HP Performance to Dyno tune the beast then off to  the Turkey Run.

I hope everything goes as planned.  The Daytona Turkey run would be a great place to "unveil" my car for the first time.

Wish me luck.

Dan,

I like the way you ran your throttle cable, going to do the same.

Did you shorten up the upper arm?

danc30

No, I didn't shorten it, it is adjusted to point more towards the seat and tweaked (bent) slightly to the left.  I got the idea from Chris Doss and copied it. (thanks Chris)

Here is a picture of his.

lookin good!

Now that you've got the body on, how do the wheels fit?  I was planning to go with teh same wheels, 17x11 and 17x8 but i was going to try 5" bs on the rear.  Got any pics of how well the rears fit on your car?

if you don't mind, could you email me a picture or 2 of your wheel fitment.  I can't get on this site very often because it is blocked from my work network.  Occasionally, I can turn the filter off and sneak in here though!  :P

BTW, I'm HM1104, currently in Iraq so I don't have alot of internet options!

Hey Josh,
First let me say, Thanks for your service.

The car is getting painted now and aligned right after that.

HM1104

Sweet!  Thanks for the info.  The smallest BS i can get on the wheels I want is 4 3/4.  i figured, recommended is 4" on a 10" wheel so why not 5" on an 11" wheel.  But Mike said it could be close with a 5" BS.  For the fronts, the options I have are 17x8 or 17x9.5.  i figured 17x8 w/ 255 tires would work just fine.

So, what color is she going to be?
