Hurricane FIA on BaT
« on: December 15, 2022, 10:31:21 PM »
Seems like this might be HM1100 that Mike Arps was going to build as an FIA? Now completed by someone else and listed on BaT.

I think they’ve missed on a few of the details (rear wheels protruding, stereo in dash being a few glaring ones) but seems like would be easy to correct those things for those (like me) that would rather make it as true as possible to an original FIA.

Reference Paul’s info from an older thread:

Agree - disappointing!  I think it’s a case of “the devil’s in the details”.  IMO the seller didn’t get off on the best foot, taking some number of comments into the sale to explain the history of the build and clear up confusion about how it was listed (as a 427, but built as a 289 FIA). Then too many details of the build didn’t match the FIA theme: should have had FIA wheels, quick jacks instead of a 427 street car bumper!, etc.  I think a person could just sort out all the details and the same car would have sold for at least 10k more since there would have been a larger number of potential buyers.  Builder should have copied the details of this one:
