Agree - disappointing! I think it’s a case of “the devil’s in the details”. IMO the seller didn’t get off on the best foot, taking some number of comments into the sale to explain the history of the build and clear up confusion about how it was listed (as a 427, but built as a 289 FIA). Then too many details of the build didn’t match the FIA theme: should have had FIA wheels, quick jacks instead of a 427 street car bumper!, etc. I think a person could just sort out all the details and the same car would have sold for at least 10k more since there would have been a larger number of potential buyers.
