Not much to update other than I decided to upsize my coolant recovery tank from the 1 quart I had to a 2 qt. Canton. The 1 qt. was just enough but occasionally spit some coolant out. Do not see that happening with the 2 qt.

Awhile back I also did another short Blueridge parkway drive, only recorded 40 miles of it on Relive, but was 200 mile round trip from the house. https://www.relive.cc/view/veqzojVdzBv
Hwy 80 and 226A are pretty challenging and tight, the parkway portion is a nice cruise.

The local cars and coffee event I organize monthly was featured and a few of the cars as well in the local chapter of the Antique Auto Club of America's magazine recently.

Still waiting on my painter to take my car some day so in the mean time, just driving the hell out of it. Another trip to the Blue Ridge and did another section of it. This was part of a 265 mile ride this past Saturday.

Just like some others, my rear suspension got noisy and with some creaks. I thought it was the 100 degree temps I was driving in. So I decided to replace the rod ends like others. The third link rod ends were in the worst shape and most difficult to change out with the help of a cordless impact, but got them all yesterday. Replaced the QA1 XM rod ends for the FK JMX rod ends. No noise or creaking heard after a short drive, we'll see after more miles are put on them, but happy I did them now.

Was able to spend a couple hours on the car today and mounted some gas struts on the trunk lid temporarily. Bracket on lid is just held with rivets, will change to riv-nuts, but need to get some for thicker material. They are 15" long extended at 20 lbs each, they help raising it some and enough to hold the lid up.

Greg, do you have the part number or where you purchased these gas struts and mounts?  thanks.

I changed my struts to the 30 pound link above and work much better than the 20 I had originally. You'll have to source the 10mm studs and coupling nut I used on passenger side to attached to the trunk tub. The trunk lid bracket shown is on the driver side, mounted 12" from front edge of lid to center of the ball. Ball studs are mounted 2" below opening lip and 1 inch in from corner of trunk tub.
