NEW HURRICANE OWNER!!

I have posted on here a few time but I thought I would make it official and let everyone know that I sent in the purchase agreement for HM-2016! I have had an opportunity to talk to a few of you already and have found the Hurricane family to be passionate, very knowledgeable, and willing to help.  I am happy to "join the club!"
I'll throw in a little backround to help prospective buyers make a decision as well.  I had recently listed an experimental aircraft that I was building for sale on an aviation website so that I could pursue my dream of building a Cobra replica.  John McLaughlin contacted me about the aircraft and also educated me on Hurricane Motorsports and told me they were worth a look.  Up until this point, I had my eyes set on a Factory Five.  I had already been prepping to dive into their MKIV car.  I figured I owed it to myself to check out this Hurricane 427 so I decided to make the short drive to Lake City and check them out before making a decision on the project.  So, on a Saturday I drove to Lake City with my Dad and two boys in tow to test drive the Hurricane and see their facility.  I'm sure glad that I did.  When I got there I was welcomed by John and Mike McLaughlin, Monty and Jason Kruse.  First of all, the people and the company behind the Hurricane are fabulous.  Top notch bunch of folks.  The car blew my socks off.  The quality of fiberglass is done so well I can't even compare it to what Factory Five puts out.   I don't say that to be rude or to start an argument.  It is a fact that I have seen with my own two eyes.  One of the things that disappointed me about Factory Five was the quality of the fiberglass.  I could see why it was easy to invest thousands into an FFR paint job.  Unfortunately, the bodies require that kind of work to look good.  Fact is, the Factory Five does not do a good job on their bodies, they are better than the MK3 but still nowhere near the Hurricane for quality.  The other thing I noticed was that the car was comfortable.  The dropped floor pans and roomy foot boxes made it a very "comfortable" hot rod.  I'm 5'10" and 185 and every time I have sat in the Factory Five car I felt like I was putting on a shoe that was one size to small.  It wasn't comfortable at all.  The Hurricane allows me to drive with legs extended in a relaxed posture with both arms inside the car.  This meant a lot to me as I want to cruise the car a lot and I wanted to be comfortable.  Finally, the car drove and performed just like I would expect, solid, tight, and ridiculously fast.  Plus the accuracy of the car to its ancestor is very high.  So the decision was made.  Hurricane it is.

Congratulations Aaron!  I had the exact same experience you did in terms of exploring both FFR and Hurricane, I felt the manufacturing quality and fit for my 6'2" frame made it a no brainer.   I'll  send you a PM with my contact info in case you want to compare notes once you  start your build.

Congrats and welcome to the club!!! You won't regret your decision.  Like Bobby said, post your progress, questions or problems here.  There are several HM-2xxx builds ongoing in various stages.  A lot of us have "been there - done that" so we can help.  Jason is a real good source too.  Don't be shy to ask as no questions is too dumb.  None of us were.

Aaron, welcome you have chosen wisely. Think we visited about 6-7 different manufactures when shopping and found that the boys in Lake City "know" fiberglass, it was a major selling point for us.
