HM1081:)   aging gracefully in the garage

Got the trunk hinges done this weekend, Dads trunk lid mock up (picture in last post) worked swimmingly.
Had to take a profile picture against my truck just to see the size difference.

Fuzzy

kinda looks like a quarter scale car against the huge hauler.....gotta remember that when you come to an unmarked intersection, if they don't see us, we'll have tire tracks across the hood and trunk and they won't feel a thing...
rear end looks great, am wishing I can get my fit that good, long ways to go here.  Great progress, too bad weather is going to turn  cold soon, ya all need to get a ride in before its too cold.

Can not believe it has been October since I posted anything. I have not got much done, but we have taken the body back off and am cleaning some things up in preparation for firing the engine and possible go-kart. Also have some work we wanted to do on the body while off. After that (fingers crossed) it body back on ready for bodywork/paint.

Some of the clean up items have included: Taking the fuel tank back out and rinsing out. Raising the mounting height of my fuel vent. Having to change my radiator cover due to hood hinge interference.

Actually did a few things this weekend.
Couple of Aluminum panels in the trunk;

Temp fuel neck;

Fresh air vent hose;

MFE III

I like the look of the alum panels and fuel pump in the trunk. Are you planning on lining the entire trunk in alum, or just the sides?
Looks great!

I'm thinking just the sides, carpet the rest. May make a pan under the FP just to protect if switching out pumps.

Look what slithered out into the sun Saturday, by Sunday had 3" of snow again.

Nice enough to work in the garage again. I got the brakes bleed, so the Cobra now has working brakes, Clutch is next, then going to start this monster.

Now out to mow the yard. Have not even put the snow shovel away yet.

Left for the body shop Sat July 5th for first round of body work and primer. Maybe in two weeks we will have first start and the body back ready to mount. Yea!

mandmGuys

Well body guy stuck to his word and finished the body work and primer in just two weeks. Picked it up Saturday everything looks great he did great job evening out the lip on the wheel openings. Did not get to work on much else this weekend but getting ready for first start.

mandmGuys

There has been a lot going on in the build of HM2006. Getting ready for first start, changing intake manifold (long story), to last Saturday first move under its own power.

Mark, sounds sweet!! I think you needed to "take it around the block" while you were at it.

Wow, did not realize I had let this get so out of date. Try and do some catch up here.

At the body shop.
