I've been reading the posts and veiwing the build pics and decided to go with the 17" wheels. I need to know if a 17"X9.5" with 4" back spacing wheel with a 275/40/17 tire will work on the front. I saw that HM 1073 put this tire on a 17"x9"wheel with a 4" BS but has not set the body on yet. I've ordered a set of Buniks for my future HM and need to know if I have to make a change in backspacing or rim width? Hurry please so I can change the order if I have to.
Waiting on info: BDF :-[

I am a little ways from putting the body on but my 9" w/ 4" BS doesn't have any clearance on the frame or suspension.  I think Phil B used the same size tire 275-40-17 on an 8" I believe with 4".

I asked Mike Arps before buying mine and he said the 9" with 4 or 4.5 BS with the 275-40-17 will be fine.

The 8.5 with 4.5 BS would leave 4 from the BS to the outside.
My 9 with 4 would leave 5
your 9.5 with 4 would leave 5.5

Mine will be 1" more to the outside and your 1.5" than what they sell with the car.

Thanks guy's for the info. I've already left a message to change the wheels to 17x9. The pics I saw look like its going to work along with y'all information.
Ready for the darkside. I'm setting the timeline to order in October. Wish me luck.

Good luck BDF. You'll be very happy with your choice and the support that comes with it. The "darkside" [smiley=evil.gif] awaits   As cobraspit says, BYAO..... ;D

Hey D_Cook let me know when you put the body on your chassi. Do me a favor and tape a string on the outer body at the top of the fernder well and measure the distance from the tire belly to the string and send me the distance. My biggest fear is that the tire will stick out or they look too wide for the stance of the car.  Mi :)ke replied to me that I shouldn't have any clearance issues, but I just gotta know. Also send me some pics when you get the body on. E-mail= curole1@slb.com
Thanks BDF :)
