Congrats  Paul on the sale, I'm hope it met your expectations!

I think the buyer got the better end of the deal, but it is what it is.

I sure wish Hurricane would step up their marketing - I feel we're losing ground.

Paul,
Congratulations with your sale. I was looking at your photos again and was wondering where you got the rubber gaskets for the front turn signals? They look alot better than the flat rubber pieces that came with the turn signals that came with my HM2013 kit. Anything you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Michael,
I think those are O-rings at those turn signal lamps.

I have to agree Paul re your marketing comment. When I sold my Hurricane on BAT, I got several comments as to "never heard of Hurricane".

Hurricane has manufactured 150 or so kits, Gen 1 and 2 combined.  Kirkham has surpassed 1000, Superformance over 3000,  Factory Five?  God know how many ....

The general public is very ignorant (uneducated, uninformed) when it comes to the replica market.   When I was building mine, passers-by would ask "factory five"?   That seemed to be the go-to assumption.  They are the McDonalds of cobra kits, IMHO.      It seems lately, i'm getting more questions out in public like "is that real/original?", which is me is an extreme compliment.   If it was a cartoony looking 'restomod' built they wouldnt ask that.   with accurate, correct dash layout, 15" goodyears, real knockoffs, black gelcoat with roadrash patina, it has the look.   When I mention its a "Hurricane Motorsports" kit I built, not one single person has ever heard of HMS.  its that a bad thing? I think not.   I just educate them about the Hurricane being a low volume high quality kit from Iowa, molds coming from an original cobra CSX3235 molded in Texas in the '80s, being complete correct (to that particular body), correct dash, roll bar, correct wheelbase with updated boxed in frame, IRS options, etc etc.

Hurricane-Lees Summit relied on ClubCobra to spread the word. They were pretty active on the site and there was a fair amount of chatter about the brand. Until they chose to shut down the brand and sell, it was growing dramatically. Their marketing was Kit Car Magazine ads, Club Cobra chatter and their own website and customer interaction.

Iowa never really adapted to that model, the last time anyone from Hurricane was on the site was Jan. 2019. Because of some other commitments, they chose not to attend the Texas Cobra Club meet this year. Don't know the plans for London Cobra Show.

Just saying, if you were trying to hide a company . . .  Probably will po Alec but I don't agree with their plan. And I feel we will suffer financially when we go to sell our cars. My recent auction, Sam's auction, prices at the 'hot rod shops (Fastlane Classic Cars, Gateway Classics) all have reduced price due to nobody knowing about the brand.

Just makes these Hurricanes more rare and exclusive... ;)

I may be the exception in that unless financial disaster strikes I don't plan on ever selling my hurricane Cobra.  Wife says she gonna bury me in it.
