New owners manage multiple international brands; have history of successful acquisitions

One of the most talked-about names in kit car production, Hurricane Motorsports, has been acquired by Scranton Manufacturing Co. of Scranton, Iowa. This is the first official announcement of the acquisition which was finalized on Monday, September 21st, 2009. Hurricane Motorsports' initial run of one hundred twenty-two Hurricane 427 Roadsters made waves in the kit car world and beyond, and loyal fans have been thirsting for more ever since. The new owners are ready to build excitement once again, bringing decades of related experience in product development, engineering and manufacturing. Scranton is especially skilled in frame welding and precision fiberglass molding. The company

That's great news! If we (car owners) can help out with anything, don't be afraid to ask. We all have the same dream to see Hurricane return to the company it was.

I echo all the well wishes above and look forward to your bringing the HM Cobra back to market. You obviously have a very proud and active builder/owner base that will help you in any way we can to succeed.
As you firm up plans on the car, pricing, available date, etc, let us know and we can start to build some "buzz".
Have you decided whether you'll offer kits, rollers, turnkey minus, or all of the above?
We'd also be happy to share our thoughts on changes and improvements we would recommend. Two quick ones come to mind; the kit supplied brake and clutch MCs are the wrong size and moving the rear shock mounts up 1 inch with appropriately taller springs and shocks would greatly improve ride and handling.
Best of Luck!

Welcome and keep us up to speed on the how's, when's and whatevers.  Here's hoping all of the previous buyers (us guys and gals) will be kept in the loop, never know when someone will want to build one for the kids  ;D  or the spouse ::).
Glad to have you on board.

This is great news, it appears that Scranton has the capibility, facilities and the skills to produce a great  new Hurricane.    :)

I think Matts idea of incorporating improvements based on HMS owner experience is an appropriate and helpful issue. I suggest to Scranton that they develop a Owner/Buider Survey covering all areas of quality and construction to  help them make quality improvement prior to release of the new Hurricane.
Most owners will jump at the chance to contribute to this process.   ;D

The trouble with people is not that they don't know , but that they know so much that ain't so.

Steve,

You cannot imagine how happy you have made 122 testosterone-filled orphans. ;D ;D

Best wishes, can't wait to come to Iowa.

Perhaps I will start checking the forum more often again.
This is great news.
Maybe I will have to build a second Hurricane.
