ERA builds a beautiful car but I haven't figured any way it can be reasonable in price.

Dan, you might want to check out Unique Motorcars, here's a link:

http://www.uniquemotorcars.com/

Unique offers both 427 and 289 models and they have been in the business for a long time.

With the downfall of Hurricane, I have turned my sights on a Unique Motorcars 289FIA car.  I've seen several and must say, they are excellent and VERY period correct.

Fuzzy

Isn't the Unique the one on the famous Cobra tire poster most of us have in our garages?  Under car side pipes, pale blue and a forward mounting roll bar support?  That's been my inspiration for many years.

Dugly, I sure wouldn't hold my breath for a Hurricane, sad to say....if you are ready to buy, might be able to cut some deal these days, always worth a try, I know there sure have been some deals on finished cars lately even on CC.  I think if you bought the Unique you wouldn't be disappointed.   I had seriously looked at one but they never responded to my questions about building a right hand drive one.  Only Mike and Rich were willing to give it a try.  The FIA car is really nice and if I was to do it over again, that is the route I'd go.

I thought EVERY Cobra owner had one of those. Get them on E-Bay for about $10.

QuoteI've never seen the poster you refer to. Do you have a link or image of it?
Paul

IIRC, Paul, the poster to which Fuzzy is referring was an advertisement for the B F Goodrich tire company.

I've got the one the link points to that Ken posted. Right side of garage. I sure didn't pay $79 for it...guess if someone really wanted one, they would pay for it but there are a lot of other things my $79 could go for.
It has been one of my all time favorites and when people are over to the house and can't visualize what my Hurricane will look like finished, I just show them that for a general idea.  I think they were originally $ 9.99 or something like that.

Considering the status of the Texas bunch who bought Hurricane.  I wonder how much longer this web site will be up?

Doing cost comparisons of various kits.  So far a Unique looks to be about $4,000 more than a roughly equal IRS Factory Five kit.  Not too much on the FF butt-in-the-air stance though and a few other details.  I'm going to go down the ERA parts list tonight but they have always seemed very high (but a high quality car also).
