is anyone or has anyone gone the efi route similar to what some of the ffr guys do?  i know it can or could be done, its not exclusive to just ffr...just wondered whos done it. other than making sure you have all the parts needed, whether from a donor car or not, and making sure you have the harness needed for the electronics. its not rocket science, but it certainly could seem like it.

thanks much

You might want to send a PM to DLowman, Mike.  He's using a Mass-Flo EFI.  It's a pretty cool system--the company outfits an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap manifold with a dry-flow throttle body capable of flowing 1,000 CFM and a set of fuel rail type injectors.  The system can use either the company's proprietary ECU or you can get an adaptor to hook the system into the standard Ford ECU.  To the less than knowlegable, it could pass for a carb system at first glance (until you wonder what those fuel rails are all about).

The reports I've read indicate it runs right, first time, right out of the box!

Good luck.  If you're determined to use, for example, a Mustang GT's 5.0 with factory EFI, I'm sure you could do it.  There might be some adapting to fit the Hurricane harness, or perhaps it might take a custom harness, but it sure ought to be possible.
