Just curious if anyone here has attended the Mott Community College Replica Build School in Michigan?

At one point I checked into the Mott build school.
Retired and attempting to age disgracefully!!

The differences between a FFR and Hurricane builds are so significant, I'd question how much value there'd be in the build school. If you have little or no experience working on cars and want exposure to generic mechanical procedures it may be of value, but I suspect there wouldn't be much in the way of direct transfer in terms of specfics for building a Hurricane. FFR yes, Hurricane, probably not.

Just my .02

I just attended the FFR Build School at MCC in Michigan earlier this month.

My son and I attended the Mott build school before we decided to build a Cobra. It was the best thing we could have done to prepare. We were both well versed on car mechanics and maintenance, but the Mott school filled in the holes neither of were aware of. We have builtt a couple FFRs and are finishing up a Hurricane ( I wanted to see what the differences were). The school saved us valuable time in not taking the wrong paths. Building the FFRs also helped us in building the Hurricane. My two cents say it is worth the investment to go, unless you are already a professional builder.

I'd be interested in your build impressions of the Hurricane as compared to the FFR's you've done. How about the finished product?

As would I.  I'm still on the fence, and I'd love to hear the opinion of someone who's built both cars.  JHennie?

The FFR build was harder due to the thousand rivets needed to be installed IMO. I thought that part would never end! Lots of cleaning/painting of used parts if you go the donor route and less but still needed if you don't go that route. I didn't run into too many mis-fitting parts on either but you have to kind of know what to buy/look for with an FFR. The FFR is a good car and well thought out, so don't get me wrong. The thing I didn't like was it wasn't close enough to the original shape/profile.
