I read in the Hurricane NEWS section today that a convertible top was offered as an option for $1300 a few years ago. Is it still an option and has anyone ordered and installed it? I don't see it listed as one. :-?

Mike or Rich would have to answer whether it is still available.  I didn't inquire as I am not interested in one.

Also not sure if anyone has one on their car, but I can remember someone asking about the post locations and I saw some pics of them so I assume someone has one. I just can't find the thread.

I'm sure whoever has one will reply.

Looks like they are available.  Here is a thread on it but not any pics of the whole thing.

When I ordered my kit, I was told it was currently unavailable, not sure for how long it will be unavailable.   Does anyone know if any of the other soft tops or hard tops available will fit the Hurricane?   I have a wife who would like to drive it but doesn't feel real secure driving an open car where we live.....

I want a convertable top because I want to do more than just take it out for short rides. Anybody here who rides a bike knows what it is to get caught with a sudden weather change or go on a trip overnight somewhere and the next day it rains. With the bike ,you wait or get wet, no real harm done but no fun either, especially if you have to be back and its a few hundred miles ! I don't want to damage the car with water and thats why i want a top. Just for overnight travel and emergencies. It does not have to be anything fancy.Randy :)

Hey Randy,
I've been thinking of a soft top also for the same reasons you mentioned. Long trips and sudden storms. I talked to Mike A. a while back and he said they are working on both the hard and soft top. Anyhow, he said they should hopefully have something available this spring. I guess we'll just have to keep watching for them, but at least they're in the works, and will eventually be available.
