Looking thru some build pic's, does the frame above the engine/trans unbolt?
Talking about the metal frame that the firewall and dash bolts to.
Going to drop the engine/trans as a whole unit, I know you can aslo feed the combination in without removing it.

Yes. Remove 4 bolts and it lifts off.

Thanks, I'm sure it will make it easier to install the eng/trans.

Rear trans mount/X brace is also removable if needed.

How easy is the X-brace/transmission mount to remove once the body is installed?
Retired and attempting to age disgracefully!!

Doug,

The X-brace drops out with four bolts easily.  Just make sure the bolts go in from below, with the nuts on top of the frame, so the long bolts can drop out from the bottom.  The gear box will drop out from underneath.  Been there once already, and will be going back there again soon.  I did find a compact transmission jack, that worked great when using jack stands rather than a lift.  ::)

ranman,

That's exactly how I installed mine.  Much easier to do it that way.  While you are at it, go ahead and measure up the driveshaft and install it so the drivetrain is complete.
