I am in the market for a Cobra kit, and have been of the opinion that "If I can't afford a CSX vin numbered car, I will get a FFR...

... After looking around at other websites which are somewhat impartial, I came across HM.  Yeah, I still have ALOT of the FFR marketing schemes bouncing around in my head, but am intrigued by the HM car.

Anyways, I would like to see a pic of the floorboards on the HM. Are they fiberglass?  Can someone also send a pic of the firewall? (Pre-build pics, if possible.)

Thank you, one and all for your time!

Ryan Cassidy

Feel free to look around at the pics on my site  (in my signature).  There are several of the areas you are requesting.

Cheers,
Ryan Cassidy

The floor pans in the dropped foot box area are made out of heavy guage steel plate and are designed to prevent amost any penetration into the foot area of the cockpit. The tub is one piece fiberglass mounted onto 2X2 and 2X1 outriggers. The black gelcoat side of the tub faces towards the ground so you do not have to do any exterior finish on the tub. Our experience of fiberglass versus aluminum for the interior of the cockpit is that a fiberglass tub is very easy to install (less than 100 rivets versus 1000+ rivets for an aluminum cockpit), seals better, and fiberglass offers superior sound and heat insulation (aluminum is a great conductor of both heat and sound). And, after you cover them with carpet, it is almost impossible to tell one from the other.
