It is going slow, as I have had some neck/spine problems.  Had an MRI this week and they are going to try some kind of experimental steroidal shot next week.  I may not be able to build any faster, but I think I may be able to hit 50 home runs.

I am working on the front suspension a little bit these days right now.  Here is a recent picture of the completed and mounted rear end.

Charley,

  Sorry to hear of your health issues. I hope everything will be fine. It seems that building a Cobra has an effect on your health. During my build, I had to have my gall bladder removed and now that I'm 99.9% done (just have the cockpit carpet left to do), I'm having hand surgery next week. That will put an end to my carpeting :'(. Oh well, remember, the build is supposed to be fun so take your time healing and get back to the build when your able. Take care.

Haven't posted in a while, sorry.  Build is proceeding, but slowly.  Basically complete through chapter 9.  That puts me at the "install the engine" stage.  Well, here is what Keith Craft brought up to me at Run N Gun this weekend.  It is their 306 street crate engine.  Dyno'd at 378 hp and 369 ft lbs of torque.

It has been a while since I posted here, but it feels like I've made some progress lately.  I just got the cockpit and upper frame put in place.  Getting the AOD to work and to fit has been a long headache.

Hey Charlie, glad to see you are back to the car and making progress, you are ahead of me.  I had a similar problem with the linkage proturding into the foot space and I did some creative cutting too.  Still haven't found a clean way to cover it up as I want to be able to adjust later if need be.  Keep at it.

Charley, what did you come up with to cover the linkage ?  I'm thinking of molding something out of fiberglass that I can rivet on incase I want to open it later.  I'm going to have a Dokata digital sender for the gear position there also.

Ken,

I haven't decided yet.  I have never fiberglassed before and I may try that.  More likely, I will get my aluminum expert brother-in-law to fabricate something.  I am in no hurry to permanently solve that problem until I make a lot more progress and am confident that the engine/drivetrain is all working properly.

Sounds like a plan to me....aluminum would be nice but haven't found a source here yet.  I've done some really basic fiberglassing so may try that, cheaper than screwing up aluminum sheet for me.  If I do get it done, I'll keep you posted and do some photos.  keep chugging along.
