Good eye Larry! I see what you mean. Mine are just like yours. It looks like the bend in the pipes where the headers exit the body may be a little tighter too. Maybe a touch longer overall also? Hard to tell by the pics though, but the junction is definitely smoother. I looked back at some of the pics, and it seems like all the newer cars have the smoother pipe junction.

Everytime I look at a new car I see some cool change, improvement or modification Mike, Rich and Jason have made.  [smiley=thumbup.gif] [smiley=thumbup.gif]

QuoteLarry,
It's kind of a long story but the guy that used to make the side pipes for years passed away last year.

Mike, I'm sorry to hear that too. Looks like we were posting at the same time. I like all the changes and improvements you guys have made, I thought this was one of them too.

Well, it all fits together quite nicely.
Now it all comes apart for the body and paint work.

Thanks Phil....I've been watching your build as well... the two cars have a lot in common.

It's look'in great Bob!!!  You've done a beautiful job on it. I'll bet you can't wait to get her painted.

You right Bob,
They both have ALLOt of in common.

I'm guessing your next step is the same as mine. Trimming the Doors and setting the hood and trunk to match the body lines.....My build has been going really smooth but, with this I'm VERY Nervous. I dont want to screw this up...

I've read and read all the posts on Setting and Trimming the doors and panels. I guess I just have to just jump in with both feet.

Ya'll are gonna see my build slow down to a crawl with this body work.

Yea Phil I'll take this part a little slower myself I have fitted the hood and one of the doors and it actually went quite quickly. I used a belt sander on the door edges to enable a nice flat surface and the corners I did by hand. The hood same thing.
The biggest problem I had was the air cleaner ...I had the same oval air cleaner as you do and it would not fit under the hood without significant re-work of the hood. Instead I change the air cleaner to a smaller oval polished billet item that fits better and looks great.

Yep, the body work is slow and tedious. Its best to take your time and get it right. Extra time spent here will be well worth it.

Bob,
I had the same problem with my Air Cleaner. I ended up changing it also.

Do you or Can you take some pictures of your door panels and the work you did on the trunk and hood?

I'd greatly apreciate it :)

Thanks,
Phil
