Whoa man, take a chill pill!  I asked the question because one would assume since MOST people go back to work on the 2nd that being the 6th, that it would have been received by now.  I'm not trashing hurricane!  They've always replied to my emails promptly!  That's why I asked if the shop was still closed or he was on vacation!

I am in Iraq, I can't really call and I didn't have christmas or new years so I'm slightly bitter!  So don't take offense to anythign I said! :P

I sent him an important email on Dec 29th and haven't heard anything back from him.  It's very uncharacteristic so I don't know if maybe he is on vacation, didn't get my email, I didn't get his reply or what???  Anyone??

Neither of those are THAT streetable IMHO. :-/

But I guess it depends what you consider streetable.

This car could be considered "streetable" since it is street legal

What is your power goal?  I mean, my 408 with aluminum heads will be around 500hp/500tq.  How much power is needed for the street?  Put a blower on that and you are talking mid to high 600 #'s!

Heck, you can get a complete, ready to run all aluminum 427w from the engine shop for $3k less than that! All aluminum 460w for 2k less than a pond! haha

IMO, a 408 is more than enough for a fun street car.  But if you want a big cubes... why not a 460w?

$7000 for an aluminum shortblock, just $100 more than an aluminum 427w shortblock.

Don't quote me but I believe on club cobra I may have seen a post from Rich or Mike that they WOULD do a partial kit.  Like I said, don't quote me on that, your best option is to ask one of them via email.

Your friends Shelby is nice I'm sure but it really was never a kit.  He paid so much for it because it came assembled and it DOES bear the authenticity of being a Shelby.

I wanted my replica to drive.  Why pay 80k when I could have the same thing.. or close to it for less than 1/2 that?  I don't plan on really showing my car and I don't need the ego boost by telling everyone I own a shelby.  IMHO, I'd buy a kirkham before a Shelby! haha  Unless of course it was a CSX 2000 or 3000 which it would NEVER be driven in that case.  Where's the fun in that?

Give Hurricane a call or email them they'll be happy to help you out.  Either in a partial kit or maybe some direction about where you could get one.

How do you even get access to the owners forum?  do I have to have actually taken delivery of my kit before I get access?

I'm ordering mine here, best prices I've found and free shipping.  They also do the custom backspacing.

Sweet!  Thanks for the info.  The smallest BS i can get on the wheels I want is 4 3/4.  i figured, recommended is 4" on a 10" wheel so why not 5" on an 11" wheel.  But Mike said it could be close with a 5" BS.  For the fronts, the options I have are 17x8 or 17x9.5.  i figured 17x8 w/ 255 tires would work just fine.

So, what color is she going to be?

lookin good!

Now that you've got the body on, how do the wheels fit?  I was planning to go with teh same wheels, 17x11 and 17x8 but i was going to try 5" bs on the rear.  Got any pics of how well the rears fit on your car?

if you don't mind, could you email me a picture or 2 of your wheel fitment.  I can't get on this site very often because it is blocked from my work network.  Occasionally, I can turn the filter off and sneak in here though!  :P

BTW, I'm HM1104, currently in Iraq so I don't have alot of internet options!
