Kits, Rollers (Turnkey) and Complete Cars
« on: April 10, 2025, 07:12:26 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I saw an old post that stated the previous owners had discontinued selling kits.  Going forward, Hurricane Motorsports will be offering complete kits, rollers (turnkey cars) and complete cars.  Kits will start at $33,500 and rollers and complete cars will be quoted per customers specifications.  We are a complete shop that can fabricate, assemble and paint so our capabilities are pretty unlimited.  Please pass the word that we are currently taking orders and adding to our line.  Our first Porsche Speedster Replica is about 60% complete and we are working on obtaining the molds and chassis for the original slabside replicas.

For the most up-to-date info, please follow us on Instagram and check the website for updates.

Thank you,
Shane Williams

Any changes to the parts used? And will they still fit the series 1 and 2 cars? Glad to see things moving ahead.

There will be a few changes to the parts but nothing definite yet.  I'm not sure what you are considering Series 1 and 2 but the cars will be the same as the information passed on to us from the Indiana operation with some improvements.

Gen 1 cars were from Lee's Summit, MO ... the first version with hanging brake/clutch pedals, ABS plastic fuel tanks.

Gen 2 cars were from Lake City, IA ... upgrades, improvements include floor mounted brake/clutch pedals, aluminum fuel tank, more original looking roll bars, few other upgrades I cant recall...

Indiana didnt build anything to my knowledge.

Shane,

I believe Glenn was referring to Gen 1 & Gen 2 models.
Gen 1 would be between 2005 to 2008 when Hurricane was in Missouri. Gen 2 would be from 2009 when they were produced in Iowa.

My first request would be to replace the lower A-Arms with with a poly bushing type connection to the frame for the lower instead of rod ends.
Tried a rod end from McDonald Bros Racing but our mounting tabs are too shallow to accommodate the radius of the their rod end would have rubbed the frame. (similar to Chris Alston's pivot bearings)
And an off the shelf slotted upper bearing type could be used with shims would be my preference for the upper. Would allow plenty of adjustment for camber and caster.

Any updates from the new owners on car sales or anything?

The new company is active on socials (Farcebook, IG) posting pics of 427 and 289 frames, bodies. and they are offering a Porsche speedster as well.

Hello Everyone,

Its been a busy time since my last update in April.  Since then, I have attended the London Cobra Show where I had the privilege of meeting a ton of Cobra owners, spent a few weeks in Northern Michigan driving HM2039 anywhere and everywhere I could (got in about 300 miles between rainy days), we purchased the remaining assets of Hi-Tech (Phoenix based Cobra builder from the late 90's), built our first 356 Speedster Replica, improved some flaws in the 427, repainted HM2039, had a new 289 slabside mold made from a Hi-Tech body, started building 2 more 427's (one for stock and a roller for a customer), started the first Hurricane 289 Slabside, made new jigs and improved others, designed & built our first speedster body subframe (going forward, all our bodies will be manufactured in Phoenix), and more.

Sales have been slow but with the Hurricane multi-year shutdown and us wanting to get everything figured out and lined up before we started marketing too much its what we planned/expected.  We have recently partnered with our first dealer, Streetside Classics, who currently has HM2039 and Speedster #1 in their Phoenix showroom.  Streetside has 6 locations across the U.S. (Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas/Fort Worth, Nashville, Phoenix and Tampa) and we plan to fill their showrooms with all of our models over the next few years.  We are currently working on updating the website and will be attending the Good Guys show here in Scottsdale in a few weeks.

We are currently offering the 427 Roadster, 427 Roadster Street, 289 Slabside, 289 FIA (based off CSX2345) and the 356 Speedster.

I try to post regularly on Instagram and Facebook and will try to do better with the Forums.

Stay Safe!

Thank you,
Shane Williams

Wow, Shane you guys have been busy. Great to hear you have the resources to improve and grow the products on the front end. Will definitely make for a more marketable car. Pretty cool that you guys are going the dealer route.
Keep us updated.

Great update Shane!        The Texas Cobra Club is very active in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area.   There are at least 3 first generation Hurricane owners, and one 2nd generation owner (me!) in the DFW metromess.   Let us know how we can partner with Streetside Classics here in Texas for events and promotion.

Also, we hope you are planning on coming to the Texas Cobra Club Spring Meet this April!   www.texascobraclub.org
