I had a viewer on Pete's Snake Bite Kit, say that Hurricane gave him an estimate for a new kit of $40,000.00. Sounds kinda high, anyone heard anything else?

Don't expect kits to be available from them. Here is the response from the new Hurricane..."So we are moving away from doing kit sales so we have more control over the overall quality of the build. Pricing for a turn key-minus car with IRS is going to vary quite a bit depending on what options you choose. But barebones with standard options will probably run you somewhere around that $70k mark."

Where did you see this?

How's your memory Bob?  ;)

Those are your tears in that pic from their facebook page.

Interesting, a turn key minus may be a great way to go, it will be interesting to how this works out.

Yeah, after I posted here, I did some interwebs sleuthing and found the original comment.

Haha...couldn't tell when you went all teary eyed. :'(

HM-1023

Well, to each his/her own, but I'm truly disappointed. I'm still working on hm-1023, and was hoping to be able to get another one as soon as this one's finished. I was thinking that with the excellent job that Pete did recording and sharing his build (see; "Pete's snakebite kit" on the 'tube), and new owners, that Hurricane was poised to become a MUCH bigger player in the replica world. Their body is second to none, and add the independent rear chassis underneath, it's hard to imagine there not being a line of people waiting to order. I guess all we can do is wish them well.

Hi Everyone,

We are still getting calls/emails asking why we are no longer selling kits.  WE ARE!!!!!  Should anyone ask, we are selling kits, rollers (turnkey minus) and complete cars.  Our offerings have also increased to not only the Hurricane 427 Roadster and 427 Street, we are now offering the Hi-Tech 289 Roadster (Slabside), Hi-Tech 289 FIA, and Hi-Tech 427 Roadster that is more original (and more expensive) than the Hurricane 427.  We are also offering a 356 Speedster.  Our website currently has more info and pricing on all the kits except the Hi-Tech 427 which is coming soon.

Thank you!
Shane
