Well short update. Thought I'd show some of the joy using vintage parts. 65 date code MR head. Max porting done long ago with a braze where it poked through. Head failed pressure test. Other areas showed up very thin on the mag text. You can see the crack in the ex port that formed where it was brazed. A new (used) head was sent and now both heads check out ok. The gent that sold me this stuff well over a year ago said if anything didn't pass to let him know. He stands behind his stuff. Well he sure does!! Sent the new head out 2 days later. A true man to his word.
Main focus has been to get the engine all set and built. The 427 build continues.........

OK got the call the heads were done. Very nice job restoring these old pups. Now to mask and paint. Replacement head is a nice Sept 66 date code.

More.... Mild port work done to both. Anything further would cost $$$$ for little gain.

Well it's been a while! Back at it. Rear end is done and front end started. The Toploader is all set. Will pick that up next weekend. Bunch of little stuff had to get sorted. Few things with the engine build. Few pictures of the TL. Beefy and old skool. Will get some frame pictures up soon.

I know you have more to show than that on your progress... ;)

Well it's been a while since we had a update here. So here is what we did today. Aviad oil pans can be a little wonky. So everything needs to be pre fit before assembly. I bought bolts I thought would be fine. But they were a bit too long. So we tried the factory bolts and found they worked fine and had enough for assembly. The Avaid pan has a windage tray and 4 way baffles in the sump. Had to modify the pickup for correct length in the sump. And correct some bolt holes in both pan and tray. All good. Have a lot more bolt on parts and flywheel, clutch and bellhousing. Some goofy Clutch slave assembly to square away. Then the transmission. Plenty to do! We'll get there in time.
