Well guys and gals , it's been a great 14 months since I received my Hurricane. I'm glad I took my time with all the details. It is now ready for body work. But, not before registration. I plan to hit the road as soon as it is finished. I'd go crazy with a painted and finished car with out any tags on it. Would have ridden it @17  but not now. (Older and wiser). Paint and finishing should be done by Easter or sooner. I try not to rush, disappointment always follows if the goal is not reached.
Enjoy.

I opted to go with the 8-32 button heads on the filler cap just like the hood scoop instead of the 1/4" flat heads.

BDF, nice looking ride. I really like your choice of wheels. What are they?

To Ranman it's 34.6 miles :).
Big Dan, the wheels are Budnik wheels. X series TRIG. Got them from Paradise Road Rod and Custom in Idiana about $1700 delivered to my door. They beat every other price by $500-$800.
Thanks for the response.

Hang on Big Guy, I have plans to take it out to the track next Wednesday for test and tune. Hoping to stay between the lines.
I,m looking to turn in the low 12's according to the calculations I found on the internet. Not sure how accurate those things are. If I can shift it as well as I did in my Youtube video, I may get lucky.
:P

P.S. It was a son of a gun to find a left handed camshaft  to reverse the engine rotation. But we figured it out . Don't ya just love it, Chick-a-Boom Chick-a-Boom Don't you just love it.

BDF,
All looks good! 14 months! I guess that I need to get busy. I like the idea of registration before body work and paint. Smart!

Have fun! :)

It was my distinct impression that one of the selling features of the Hurricane kit is that the build process allows for the body to be at the painter while the vast majority of the chassis construction is being completed, thereby shortening the build time........NOT criticizing you, BDF, re: your choice to take it to paint after rego.  I know how it goes with these projects and at times finances dictates not only the sequence of events, but the scope, also.

It would be interesting to find out how many builders have chosen to delay the body work till last.....

BDF obey all traffic laws, like stop, look left, look right, check rear view and go like a hurricane ;D
just too nice to see, makes me want to build quicker but i take too much time reading, thinking waiting for parts and money, and throw the weather in and we still just keep rolling along.
have fun think safe and roll very fast.
