I, like many other new posters, have been researching the cobra kit cars for sale. This has been my dream car for decades. I visited hurricane motorsports website and believe this to be(from what I have read) one heck of a deal. I have been researching this project for 6 months now...trying to gather as much info as possible so I dont make a mistake when deciding what I want in a kit car. My biggest concern is that I only have a 1 car garage. For all you who have built this car, do you think a 1 car garage will cause severe problems in the build? The garage will be gutted to make room for the project(wife wont be happy....better brush off the snow on her car in the winter months). Any input will be appreciated.

David,
I, Like you, did allot of research on kits to purchase. For years all I knew was "Factory Five". Only because they where in every Mustang Mag I picked up. This has also been my dream car.
I know we are a bunch of strangers, but believe me when I tell you, You wont EVER Regret going with A Hurricane Kit and Biggest thing of all, Being a part of the Hurricane family. These guys are the greatest bunch of strangers that I've never met. Money cant buy that, and you wont get that from any other Kit company.
About your One car Garage. I wouldnt say you would have any severe problems. You can build a Body Buck with wheels and be able to pull the Body Buck in and out of the garage when you working on the car. Ryan has a great site that shows this well. Or you can do as I did, Build a short Body Buck and Leave in outside. Which is actuall a good thing because the fiberglass body will need to settle-in being subjected to the weather.
I'm sure that any of your qustions you do come up with, "EVERYONE" here will help.

Hi Dave,  I got my car with a stage 2 option, so most of the work has been done.  I do not have a garage at all, so I bought one of those portable/fabric ones.  It is 10 feet wide by 20 ft long.  I wish I had a single garage like you do.  I think that you will be totally fine.  I also think that you wont find a better deal than Hurricane.  It has been all positive for me.  Good luck,  Dan  hm1041

Hey David,
Dan has a good idea with the stage 2 option. Trust me, it can be done in a one-car garage. Built my brothers FFR in one. The only issue we ran into was all the boxes get in the way during the build. But as the stuff is installed, the boxes go away and it gets cleaner.
If you opted for stage 2, a lot of the parts would already be installed and you wouldn't have to deal with it as much. Might keep the wife happy! ;)
Either way though, it can be done.

Hi David,
A one car garage shouldn't be a problem. It may be slightly crowded but it can be done. Like the other guys stated, it would be wise to build a body buck to store the body. Especially if its not practical to store it outside.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was contemplating the stage 2 purchase as well. How much work is left to do on the stage 2? I have to say i am very impressesd by all your comments on the hurricane kit. After about 1 month of looking into kits I had already eliminated the FFR as an option. The donor concept seems to be too much time and effort in the teardown and refurbishing aspect. I have looked at shell, era, backdraft and so on so forth. At this point the hurricane looks to be the best deal I have seen so far. The only concern, as has been stated by others, is the newness of the hurricane motorsports company.
I wont be purchasing the kit for at least 6 months while I arrange the financing and worse yet convince the wife on the purchase. As a side note, I live in the burbs  outside of Philadelphia and was wondering if any of the owners lives anywhere within reasonable distance of me. If so would you mind if I could take a look at your car whether it is still being built or already completed? Again thank you for all the feedback.

Hey David,
I don't know of any owners right in Philadelphia but here are a couple cars being built in NJ that probably wouldn't be too far to go and check out. If you call Mike Arps at Hurricane I'm sure he can get you some contact info for the owners. When I was looking at the different kits I found that the Hurricane was definitely one of the best values for your dollar out there. It's hard to beat the completeness of the kit and the quality of the parts they provide. I really don't think the newness of the company is much of an issue anymore. They've been around a few years, the business is growing, they have been constastly updating and improving their cars, plus there are a few neat new things coming along, like the street version of the car. Talk to you later.

Speaking of the street version - I saw it yesterday and it's fantastic!!!!!! Jason took some pictures yesterday at Kansas Speedway - hopefully he'll post these soon. The quality of the body is excellent, and of course, Jason's paint job is outstanding. I really like the street version - very simple and beautiful!

Please ask him to post some pics if he can. I've been waiting to see how it came out.

Thanks,
