Hello all, you guys have great little forum going here!

I have been looking for a kit for awhile, and I am just about ready to place an order hopefully soon.  I have decided the Hurricane is the way to go...

Ok, confession #1, I am a diehard GM guy...  Sorry, at least I am honest...  Lol... ;D

I have decided though, that I would like to put either a 302 or a 351 in it.  The problem I am having is, what is the Ford equivalent of GM's 700R4...  I know, I know, it should be a stick...  My wife can't drive a stick though, and she is the reason I am doing this.  She wants me to do this, so I want her to be able to drive it also...

The C4 doesn't have an overdrive in it right?

I am aiming for 350-400hp and I would like to keep it an Automatic w/ an overdrive if at all possible...

What would be a good gear for street use, nothing crazy, just fun...
Anyone else running a setup like this?

Thanks for any opinions!

Correct--the C4 does not have an overdrive, nor does the C6, which is said to be much beefier.

Ford makes an AOD.
Retired and attempting to age disgracefully!!

Hey War,
Don't be shy about being a GM guy. If you wanted to, you could go with a Chevy engine in the Hurricane. Sid has a 350 Chevy in his. He has a really nice car and the small block looks right at home in there.

I agree with Doug. The Ford AOD is a good choice. Another good source is http://www.ckperformance.com/index.html  I've dealt with them in the past and they really know their stuff.

As for gears ratio's, I don't know. I don't know what the gear ratio's of the AOD are right off the top of my head, but something in the 3:20 - 3:50 range should work quite well for the rear axle. It also depends on how you plan on using the car too.

Hello

I have 1071 and I installed a Ford AOD with a Ford 347 stroker with 438 dyno HP.
and so far all is well!! I have just gotten it on the road and so far no problems  :)
It was a little close on the install but went in easy enough. I had a local build me the tranny
for about 750.00 with shift kits and beefed up! ( he said 450 HP ???)

I hope this helps
