I have been looking at the Cobra replicas available and the HM looks like a very good kit, what I need to know is what kind of hassle is involved in putting a healthy 460 into this car?

I'm not sure if anyone has put a 460 in their Hurricane.  I'm sure they will chime in if they have.

I'm sure Mike, Rich or Jason will answer your questions also as to the fitment of a 460. You can also call them and they will answer all your questions. 888-946-4737

You are correct that the Hurricane IS a very good kit.  Very complete, although I am adding some custom touches to mine.

I am very pleased with my build so far. I am even thinking of doing another one after 1073 to sell.  :)

Good luck with your decision making, I know it's tough as it took me a few months to decide on a Manufacturer. You won't be dissappointed with the Hurricane should you decide to go with it.

I am putting a 429 with a c6 in my Hurricane. same block as your 460.I am told it is not the first. I don't know if any others were automatic's or not but i am told stick is ok too with this motor. Mike commented that it was "tight". We will see. Randy :)

I just found a place that gives the weights of Ford engines;

289-302-460#
351W-510#
352- 1959 only 670#
332-428 FE 650#
429-460-640#
these must be for all iron engines, my .025 cents.

berzerko

iron blocks are about 80-100 lbs more than aluminum, heads are about 60
I,m using a new 4.6 mod all aluminum it weighs in at about 410 less acc.
You have to be careful about the weights stated alot of time its without intake or any acc.

as for size I dont think anything is wider than what I am using and it fits

A friend has a shell valley with a 429 and iron heads he did not build the car so I dont know if there is something wrong with the front end but that car has a mind of its own I think it has more to do with the weight of the motor thats why I went with a all alu. motor
