Great! ;)  There's another NC Hurricane owner out there.  Maybe someday we can all rally up somewhere for a great drive.  We have a few down south also, so we could probably get a good showing.

Sam,

What city do you live in?  I live near Charlotte, not too far from Mike.

General Information / Re: Build Manual
January 14, 2007, 07:43:30 PM
I don't have a basis to compare to any other kit, but I thought the manual was fairly complete with pictures also.  I didn't feel that I had any obstacle that I couldn't overcome with the manual and the owner's web site.  If that didn't work, Hurricane stands strongly behind their product and frequently, someone on their staff will answer questions on the site.

I suppose you could change the steps that you install, but I think it would be easier to follow the steps in the order given.  The manual does have hints or options to install items that may be easier to do one way vs. another.  I can't think of much I would change if given the chance that hasn't already been addressed with an addendum from Hurricane.

General Information / Re: POR-15 frame from Hurricane
January 14, 2007, 08:09:20 PM
I painted mine - I purchased before the current offering of the suspension install so I didn't have that to deal with.  Looking back, I would have paid to have it arrive painted if had to do over.  POR-15 is a mess.

ranman,

That's exactly how I installed mine.  Much easier to do it that way.  While you are at it, go ahead and measure up the driveshaft and install it so the drivetrain is complete.

I am impressed at the rate of sales for these cars.  I would like to see what differences there are now between mine #1025 - a year old now - and the current version of the car.

Hurricane is doing well!! (which is good for us!) :D

Very nice job.  You are definately building a car that is on-par with the Superperformace Cobra.

QuoteYea Phil I'll take this part a little slower myself I have fitted the hood and one of the doors and it actually went quite quickly. I used a belt sander on the door edges to enable a nice flat surface and the corners I did by hand. The hood same thing.
The biggest problem I had was the air cleaner ...I had the same oval air cleaner as you do and it would not fit under the hood without significant re-work of the hood. Instead I change the air cleaner to a smaller oval polished billet item that fits better and looks great.

Well I hope it gets close to his asking price.  That's a good bit steeper then I expect to get for mine, but who knows.

Well since I'm converting to a hydraulic release bearing, there's no need for these parts.
