Hmmmm... wonder if I could send my pipes and headers back for the flange mod?

Think it is worth it?

OK, I have the preliminary stuff for the program done.  I need to find out from the moderators if it is ok to post the software in the forums.

If so, I will need some folks to run it through it's paces and let me know of any issues as well as any changes or enhancements that might be good.

Working on the software now.  Started in VB6 but changed to VB.NET so this may take a bit longer as this is a bit of a learning curve for me.

Will post preliminary code when I get it done if that is "forum" ok to do.

I would have to see if I could find the formulas.

Once I have those the rest is easy.

Will see what I can dig up.  If you find something in the mean time let me know and I will use it.

I write computer programs for work and as a hobby.  Not a high end programmer, but I do OK.

I put together a program to do things like convert tire size from cm to inches and give estimated 1/4 mile and 0-60 based on HP and vehicle weight.

If you folks want, I can put together a program for helping with the Cobra builds (i.e. build tracking, photo book, cost tracking, formulas, whatever).

I am not looking for business or to charge anything, this is completely free.  I am just seriously board and looking for a project unitl I can get my Cobra ordered.

Drop me some ideas and I will see what I can put together.

I have a basic program for car building already put together.  It is not pretty but it is funtional.

Let me know, it is free to anyone who wants it and any input would be appreciated.  Again this is because I am board I am NOT selling nor will I sell this.  It is free and my contribution to the Cobra world.

If Hurricane would like something for their customers let me know.  Again, I am not looking to charge, just seriouly board.

Thought I had a link to a source that had a kit complete key ignition and push-to-start button.  Cannot find the link right now...sorry.

Although, I did find a link to a fella that installed a push-to-start system for his project and he has what looks like good details and sources for parts.

Check out http://www.panteraplace.com/page183.htm

Might help.  Hope so anyway.

Yeah, I am going with a push to start like the S2000 for my build.

Looked at the motocycle ignition switches (as suggested above) and a lot of them have keys like those used on soda machines (the little round tube like keys).  One or two looked like normal keys though.

They state that the ingnition switches are of a 3 position type. (Off/On/On w/headlights).  Perhaps this would work for this application.

Just a thought.

That's cool, can you tell me the name of the company with the FE conversion?

I am using a 351W for a motor with a Trmemc TKO600 tranny.

I was going to mod the cockpit a bit, but from what I have seen in the forums, the closer to stock (i.e. toggle switches instead of led rocker switches) will increase the value of the car.  Weird, but ok.

The interior will look pretty much stock  the engine will be the only thing different and I think the stack system will be appealing but am always willing to look at other options.

Yeah I have watched Barrett-Jackson and have seen some seriously HUGE prices go out for various cars.

I am just hoping to at least make back my investment as i enjoy building them.  And I want to live after the wife hears both numbers (paid and sold).

I know I will go with an EFI system but i am not sure about spending $5K for a stack system although I LOVE the look.

Thanks to everyone for their input and wish me luck!

Thanks,  I appreciate the input.

Yeah, I hear regularly that one is never done with a build.   ;D

I hope to get access to the "dark side" once I place my order.

Have not seen anything about clearance issues with a 351W on any model (including HM), but will certainly keep that in mind.

Your input has helped me with some of my decisions.

Would love to see an HM in person but the closest, according to The Cassidy HM Registry, is in Vienna, VA, I am in Monrovia, MD.  I think it is HM1010, but I am not sure how to contact the owner to see if I can get a look at it.

Thanks again!

I am getting ready to order my Hurricane (if all goes well).

I have some questions about design.

General Information / Re: IRS or Solid axle....
April 25, 2007, 03:27:28 PM
Well seeing how I am viewing this car as more of a track/road race/driver car I think the IRS will give better handling and response.  Overall better ride.

I am not planning on doing major burnouts or drag racing the car.

General Information / IRS or Solid axle....
April 20, 2007, 07:31:16 AM
Was wondering which might be better for my build for this particular vehicle, IRS or solid axle?  This car will most likely be mostly street use with maybe a little track time.

Unfortunately, due to agreement with my better half, I must sell the car when I am done building it so I would like to get the best resell value as well. This is one fo my considerations for this build.

Just looking for input before I order.  Figured owners and drivers would have the best feedback.

Thanks!

I posted a reply.  I have a copy of the plans used by another Hurricane owner.

Not sure if the post went through.

General Information / Air Jack System...
January 08, 2007, 01:39:27 PM
Well I am getting started on ordering my car.  Getting the engine together and painted.  Will get the Velovity Stack intack from Very Cool parts as soon as I get a couple mopre questions about it answered.

Has anyone seen an air/hydraulic jack system in a Cobra?  Similar to what they use in indy cars.
