General Information / Re: Is a Radio worth having?
June 12, 2007, 04:05:25 PM
Yep, those big pipes are my radio.

The real answer is that No, I can't see how anyone could use a radio and get benefit from it.  Just too loud in the cockpit with exhaust, engine, wind noise.  I don't think it's real useable.

General Information / Re: rear axle breather?

Ahhh... See I just had the axle vent tube.  Just the Brass Nipple part, that's it.  I see why you didn't have to do anything now.  Makes sense and I agree, I'd stick with that as well.

LOL,  Yeah its a little over kill, I just thought I'd run it where it there as opposed to just the nipple or the filter on the nipple.  You know, in case I got caught driving through a Hurricane and the off chance a drop or two (god forbid) got somehow through the filter and into the axle.   ;) ;)

Definately overkill,  The vent comes with the kit and was already installed on mine, however the filter did not.  I think it's a good idea to atleast put a filter on it.

Agreed.  The fiberglass work I did are all items (except the hood opening I believe) that Hurricane has incorporated into their car.  Nothing was wrong to begin with, the Body was great, I just wanted a few items to be more period correct.  Hurricane has since taken feedback from several of its customers and incorporated these changes into the new cars/body.

Wooooaaaaa.....  I'm sure that's the case for most folks.  But everything of mine is for sale :-)  LOL

Actually there really aren't many if any posts for parts other than whats in the for sale section.  I think that's for 2 main reasons.

A.)  The Kit is that complete - No guessing on parts
B.)  The other major components, Wheels, Engine, Paint are normally bought as individual packages making them pretty complete as well.

Just a thought as to why.

General Information / Re: Please post build URL's!!

NP, Glad you found it useful.   I've been noticing I need to clean it up some and add more details and make sure the additional costs are clearer.  Sure I have extra involved, but if you have the tools you save yourself some $$, if you decide not to "add-on" you save yourself some $$, etc etc. So it may be less for some folks and more for others :-)  I don't want to set the wrong expectation.

I'll get it updated....  Check back in a month or two, hopefully I'll be finished.

General Information / Re: Driving position/comfort
January 07, 2007, 08:12:46 PM
I have a small block 427w.  If you are not used to driving a manual and have big feet there will be a slight learning curve of course.  Lets face it, in any cobra it's pretty tight down there.  Personally, I've found it pretty easy to get used to and drive.  Manual steering works good and the pedals are spaced accordingly to my driving style.  That is left foot = clutch.  Right foot controls break with left half and gas with right half unless I'm wide open on one or the other for some reason.

General Information / Re: Bellhousing
October 07, 2006, 07:57:34 AM
I'm using the bellhousing on the top of that page, but you'll be perfectly fine with regards to fitment.  I'm running a 351w block, mcleod bellhousing, TK0600 and if I wanted to, I could take off the bellhousing and tranny from above the car with tools (not that I really prefer too though :-)  ).  More than enough room for clearance.

General Information / Re: Foot room
August 21, 2006, 05:04:28 PM
Ok  I could have done with out that now....     ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The room side to side is one item to watch for, but also how you space your pedals front to back as well as how you use your right foot. Heal toe, half and half etc, etc.  I've found that after about 5 miles I was used to the pedal spacing with everyday tennis shoes on.  Just too some time to get the feel for it.
