For Sale / Re: Hurricane FIA on BaT

Agree - disappointing!  I think it's a case of "the devil's in the details".  IMO the seller didn't get off on the best foot, taking some number of comments into the sale to explain the history of the build and clear up confusion about how it was listed (as a 427, but built as a 289 FIA). Then too many details of the build didn't match the FIA theme: should have had FIA wheels, quick jacks instead of a 427 street car bumper!, etc.  I think a person could just sort out all the details and the same car would have sold for at least 10k more since there would have been a larger number of potential buyers.  Builder should have copied the details of this one:

For Sale / Hurricane FIA on BaT

Seems like this might be HM1100 that Mike Arps was going to build as an FIA? Now completed by someone else and listed on BaT.

I think they've missed on a few of the details (rear wheels protruding, stereo in dash being a few glaring ones) but seems like would be easy to correct those things for those (like me) that would rather make it as true as possible to an original FIA.

For Sale / Re: HM1070 in north Texas
October 28, 2022, 08:43:56 PM
In early 2020 it was for sale at Jeepster Jim's in Florida: https://1car.one/1965-hurricane-shelby-cobra-96211.html
There were more pics on his actual site but just looked and looks like it's not shown as a sold vehicle or anywhere else on his site. I did find the pics on his Facebook page from when he bought it - pic attached (hopefully!).  I called and talked to him about it, but felt the asking price was too high at the time. Ended up buying HM1021 from Mike Arps not too long after that and had forgotten about 1070 until seeing this thread.

I had done a little digging back then and found that it had been for sale at RK Motors a few years prior to that: https://www.rkmotors.com/vehicles/402/1965-shelby-cobra

General Information / Re: LCS 2022

I was there with HM-1021. Good turn out...I think I heard someone say there were 181 cars in the parade into town. That includes a few GT40 and Daytona coupe replicas. I didn't see any other Hurricanes there, but didn't do an extensive search. All around good day.
