Thought I would give my two-cents worth on the "why buy a Hurricane" question.

I originally began searching for a Cobra replica in the logical place (FFR) due to their extensive advertising. After pricing everything out and ordering their build manual, the thought occured to me that if I wasn't careful, I'd end up with basically a "Mustang" in my garage (that looked like a Cobra), but had 70,000-100,000 miles on it! This was not a time in my life I needed a high-mileage car sitting in my garage needing attention..............

After pricing a Hurricane with all new parts (and crate motor/ new transmission), I realized I could have a NEW car with very little increase in $$$$$$$. After 1,500 miles, I'm happy to report I think I did the right thing. My Hurricane has been extremely trouble free, with NO repairs necessary to any components supplied by Hurricane. No electrical problems, no brake system problems, no suspension problems, ect.

With the exception of a problem I created (car rolled out of my garage), I've enjoyed driving my car every day weather permitting! In addition, the public response to the Hurricane has been tremendous!!!! The Hurricane is not a car you will ever need to make excuses for! These things, combined with the fantastic service provided by the crew at Hurricane, have convinced me that purchasing HM 1001 was an excellent decision!!!!

General Information / Re: Owners Forum??

I agree with both comments above - the support for each other on the owners forum is tremendous!!!! I'm constantly amazed at the lengths owners go to help each other out. In addition, even though I didn't build my car, I'm still treated with the same respect that each of them has earned through the build process - a very special group of people!!!!

I own HM1001 and live in Kansas city, 20 miles from the factory. I'm always excited about showing the car, and will also meet you at the factory if that helps - seems I'm there once a week wasting their time anyway............

Speaking of the street version - I saw it yesterday and it's fantastic!!!!!! Jason took some pictures yesterday at Kansas Speedway - hopefully he'll post these soon. The quality of the body is excellent, and of course, Jason's paint job is outstanding. I really like the street version - very simple and beautiful!

My car (HM1001) is currently at Hurricane being repaired from an incident with a tree..............maybe Jason can give you a ride when it's streetable again!

It has a small block Ford with approx. 350 HP - plenty of power for me - big cam that sounds great!

I stop by the shop at least once a week. (bet they're tired of me living so close!) I can tell you they are a great bunch of guy's (and girl). They always make me feel welcome and never laugh out loud at my stupid questions! I highly recommend any owner (or potential owner) drop by if you have the chance - your comfort level with this operation will peak once you meet them in person.

Just a word to the wise (I'm obviously NOT wise!) Hopefully you can view the attached pictures and see the result of HM1001 rolling out of my garage, crossing the street, and ending up in the yard of a house down the hill. The car was backed into my garage, running, brake set, and I was working on the PCV valve. After a couple of minutes, it decided to go for a ride, and nothing I tried stopped it! I will obviously be using wheel chocks in the future........
The car is currently back at Hurricane, and Mike, Jason, and Rich have been extremely supportive in both the rebuilding of my car and providing me much needed mental counseling during my nightmare!
