Really like this pic of #1011. 1,700 miles of fun so far.

HM2008 is another really nice looking Hurricane. Mine needs more road time for sure. These are such a blast to drive and certainly an attention getter.

5 years later and still playing with under the hood stuff. Tried a different air cleaner and covers. It now has 1300 miles on it and still runs and drives perfect. The BFG tires are gone and Cooper Cobra's are on it and what a difference they made. Hope everyone is doing well and Merry Christmas to all of you.    Dan #1011

Matt, The new mufflers are 24" body, packed with the louvers facing forward. They are
louder the originals mainly because the ID is bigger. The sound is much better but the biggest
difference is the power increase. I do know that if the louvers were facing backwards and
they were not packed, it would be to loud. I took a friend down the highway last weekend
at 75-80 mph and about 2200 rpm we could easily carry on a conversation. It has a nice deep tone
cruising and a bit of a thump at idle. Like your engine and mine they are capable of making good
horsepower but not with the old pipes.

I'll post the newest pics under this finished thread although as long as I own it - it will never be finished.
Decided to put new tires on last week because the BFG's were 11 years old with under 700 miles on them.
I couldn't stop there so off to the powdercoater to do the wheel centers black. These changes along with
Classic chambered exhaust made it a different car. The Cooper Cobra tires made a huge difference in the ride.
I'm thinking about putting the wipers in the trunk and making some wiper post covers this weekend.  Like I said
it will never be done.     Dan   #1011

Thanks for the compliments, the end result makes it well worth the times you have to step back and regroup. It's amazing how much time you can spend on one part just to make it a little better. I think this next pic is one of the reasons I wanted a  Hurricane. The body shape is perfect, I really like the stance and how the tires/wheels fit in the wheel wells. Besides the looks it drives and rides way beyond what I expected.  The plan 9 years ago was to build it, drive it a bit, sell it and move on. Now I really don't think I could part with it. Dan  #1011

Sam actually with the puller fan and a good shroud I doubt the pushers would do a whole lot of good. Maybe sitting in traffic a long time they may help. Although mine has very low miles so far it's still had a few hot AZ drives. No need to even have the pushers yet. It's more decoration and something to fill the void in the nose. Their wired up as a just in case the puller would happen to fail.  Dan

Ken, I'll post a few more pics of my "non original" parts.

Matt, Those are Speedway Motors Chevy tail lights. They fit the body pads so much better.
Also the quick jack body squeezing grommets are chrome Acura valve cover grommets.

I'm still kickin trunk ideas around. I just tigged this aluminum together with a little bead rolling.
Dzus  fasteners to access the battery.
Carpet finally done, did the back panel a bit different.

OK, Finally finished my shroud project and I really like it. Makes a huge difference on how much air it sucks in. I found the start of this piece at a wholesale supply place. The size is perfect for these radiators- 19 3/4 x 21 3/4 x 1 1/4 and it's 13 gauge. See what ya think.  Dan  #1011

OK, Got the radiator sides on so I updated the photo.  When you look at the car it looks like it has 3 radiators.   8) Dan

Dusty, How strange is this. Thats exactly what I'm doing right now, just drilling, cutting and grinding. This should help funnel more air through the radiator. Do we really deserve to have this much fun.  Dan  #1011

OK, If you are into "original" please close your eyes. Some pics of how I routed the cooler hoses. I like the shortest clean-route method. Everything works fine and I like it so this is how it will be. The cooler is bypassed until 180 degrees. Last drive oil ended up at 212 and the water was 193. The shrouds will be done by Phoenix heat time so will see what happens then. The pics actually come out OK when you click on them. Dan #1011
