I thought Hurricane Motorsports was going to be up and running in September.  Well, it's now the middle of November, and I see nothing about any cars being sold.  What's the hold up?

I'd love to take a look at it, thanks.
I'll get back in touch with you next week.

We have a Cobra get-together on the fist Saturday of every month at 8:00 am at the Hardees on Creedmoor Rd near Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh.  I was wondering if there are any cobra owners nearby who would like to bring their car.  I'd love to check out a Hurricane. I'm considering them when I finally save enough money to buy one.

Thanks.

Quick question...

How do guys running a software company end up with a Cobra manufacturing business to start with?  Just curious.

Also, why selling?  Too much to deal with? Too much interference with the software business?

I had 2 businesses as well.  Had to shut one down because it was 80% of my headache, but only 20% of my profit!

So is the company still taking orders for new Cobras?  If so, what's the turn around?

Here's a cool video I found on youtube...check it ou!

General Information / Re: Engine Builders: Advice Please!

Couple of good resources for you...

http://www.boxwrench.net/

They have a great video for $30 that shows you how to rebuild and engine.

There are also some good books you can buy for cheap at Amazon.com, eg. Rebuilding Ford SMall Block Engines.   and Ford Performance V8's on a Budget.

I've learned a lot from these things.

I just purchased a 460 Big Block from a guy locally for $180 (the whole engine). Sweet deal!  It's from the 70's I think. Won't know for sure until I get inside it and look at the casting numbers.

I'm in the same situation as you, but I'm learning.

I haven't decided on who I will buy from yet (when I do). I was just wondering why the traffic is so slow here.  I like what I see from Hurricane, but I've never seen a real one.  I live in Raleigh, NC, but don't know anyone who has one around here to look at.

Anyone nearby?

I don't have a Cobra yet, still saving.  I spend a lot of time on the FFR board because it is so busy.  I learn a lot from there, but this forum is a lot slower!  I know the reason is they have sold many more Cobras, but still.   The price difference is making me lean towards a Hurricane, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Where are the exhaust pipes?  Is this a "street edition"?

How about some updates?  It's been November 2007 since your last post on your build.

Just keeping track of the builds here.
