Jeff,
Just noticed that you have the older style lower control arms that doesn’t have the extra webbing on the curved portion to reduce flexing. May want to check with Hurricane about switching then out for the newer style. There was also an issue with the welds on the nut portion of the control arm where the heim joint was connected due to cracking, may want to check into those issues.

May want to take a look at these. For give me in the crudeness, sometimes can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Thought about replacing the H4 bulbs with these.

Jim, an alternative to your speedometer issue, take a look at Speed Hut. They are the same ones I believe Hurricane uses on their factory car. They might be able to help you with your issue of connectivity.

General Questions / Re: Aligning hood
« on: July 19, 2021, 08:32:59 PM »
May have to play around by putting shims under the parts of the hinge that attaches to the hood in order to bring the hood in better alignment as I had to do to get the hood to fit better in the opening with the body.

Nicely done, where were you able to locate a spindle wrench? And what brand is it? Anything would be appreciated.

For Sale / Re: Bring a Trailer

Paul,
Congratulations with your sale. I was looking at your photos again and was wondering where you got the rubber gaskets for the front turn signals? They look alot better than the flat rubber pieces that came with the turn signals that came with my HM2013 kit. Anything you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

I know how you guys feel about the paint jobs. After hearing some of the stories and length of time it takes to get one painted I decided to do the work myself. I have had past experience with the process of bodywork and painting cars from a hobby stand point. After going through the processes I totally understand why custom shops charge what they do. Most of the work and labor is in the bodywork process to get everything to fit together before the paint goes on. When all said and done no-one will know you spent an entire weekend to get the door to align up with the rest of the body after it is painted. However they will know if you only spent 20 minutes fixing a mold seam. The paint will only enhance the defects not hid them.

I ordered the FE bracket and with a little modification was able to make it fit my engine. However I am out in left field with a Cleveland. All I did was nipped the end and flipped it over and rewelded in order to fit. Some where on the old computer I have a more detailed drawing I think, or in my pile of templates. Then again it might have been a on the fly design and build. See attachment to help explain what I did by nipping the end and flipping over. By doing that moved the hole over enough to attach.

All was a day late and a dollar short, sounds like it was an interesting clip. I too missed the episode. If anyone knows the episode number I will be sure to keep my eyes open for it.

General Questions / Re: Cockpit tub heat insulation...
« on: September 23, 2017, 09:28:53 AM »
Sorry for responding so late to this issue. I like Paul probably overdid the heat shielding. I put the normal supplied heat barrier on the outside of the footbox/cockpit. Then inside I installed Lizard Skin thermal barrier along with a layer of Eastwoods heat shield / sound barrier then will apply the carpet padding and carpet. May give up some in the weight department. I know how hot it gets in my 68 mustang without any heat barriers, so hopefully this will cut it down some.

General Questions / Re: Aluminum Firewall option...
« on: September 23, 2017, 09:14:34 AM »
Aaron,
All I have is the upper portion if the firewall aluminum. I believe Mike and Mark have the full aluminum panels. I glued some leftover trans tunnel heat shield to the back of mine then attached to the firewall with pop rivets. Mine was long enough to where I bent a lip to extend under back towards the rear to match the angle of the tunnel.

Thanks guys. I did a Google search and it seems the 2016 Superformance -Malachite Green might be the color. The earlier years the green seemed not as vibrant. But it's the internet....can't believe everything.

Isn't that the truth. It's like trying to find the woman your going to marry. When you know it you know it. Until then your choices are endless. I was thinking it might be some sort of jaguar green possibly.
