Redstang69,
I used a layer or two of tape, used a mechanical center punch then drilled slowly through the windshield arm. I also tapped the hole for the I believe a 10/24 screw and used a nyloc nut to lock it all down. Didn’t notice if you had visors but if and when you put them on, suggestion, I used stainless square nuts and put a bevel on them so they would slide in the top channel of the windshield, trimmed the screws as not to protrude too far into the channel when tightened, then a small vacuum hose to fill in the channel. Doing it that way saves one the stress of drilling or chasing the existing holes in the frame for the visors going to far and possibly cracking the glass…as well as using too long of screws.

Lining up for the parade into London. My kid and I estimated about around 200 at least.

Ben,
Sorry I missed your question earlier about anyone going to London. I honestly would have thought Nate or Chris, new owners of Hurricane would have posted something on the forum, I think they did on the Facebook side of things about the show. I don’t know the exact number of cars that where lined up for the parade into town but there had to be at least 200 cars lined up. I did post a photo of the Hurricane booth with my car and a rolling chassis. Dave Firebaugh and his candy apple red gen 1 cobra was also to be on display but was unable to make the trip at the last minute. All in all was a good day had a-lot of interest and curiosity about the Hurricane Roadster brand.

Nice, I did something similar using a screen door screen that I modified by shortening it up since it fit width wise, but a couple inches too long. Added some bulb weatherstripping around the perimeter for spacing off the radiator as well as fabricating a mounting brackets using the center bolt of the radiator bracket to secure the top and two lower birdcage bolts to attach the bottom. Now that I reflect yours is probably a lot easier to install and remove without having to take half the front apart.

Congratulations, on your milestone. I was so nervous when pushing the start button for the first time that people would have thought I drank a few too many POTS of coffee. Once it finally roared to life I was elated with joy that something I had assembled and built breathed life.

During bodywork stage I prefitted the air cleaner that I wanted to use, modified the hole to work with it. It also runs into the webbing on the back of the hood that would have to be notched if I run the taller filter, with the standard filter it works. I am running a 351 Cleveland with a quick fuel carb on a 1 inch spacer due to the distributor is the tall style and without the spacer there is no way it would work. Luckily for me the spacer was in the plans to use from the engine builder and I have approximately 3/8 of inch of clearance between the top of the cap and the bottom of the air cleaner.

Now comes the painful reality of putting it back together and being worried about putting a scratch on it. Best thing to do is get it out of the way early and put one in a hidden spot that will never show, just kidding. Take your time and tape is your BEST FRIEND.

Nicely done, and congratulations. Love a black (it is black isn’t it) cobra just something sinister about it, just so darn hard to keep it looking clean 10 minutes after you detail it out.

Awesome, bet your pretty stoked getting closer to the final stretch. Tried looking through your build log for information on the seats your using. Where those included from your late dad’s purchase of the original kit or did you get them separately? Just wondering due to the amount of room between the front edge of the seat and the dropped foot box and the steering wheel.

I can attest to that, close and complicated, then throw in wipers on top of all that mess it gets really tight and congested under/behind the dash.

Congratulations, I remember that day. Now begins the fun of putting it together, then taking it apart only to put it back together then second guessing yourself only to take it apart and put it back together the way you had it the first time. Good luck and enjoy the ride. Just remember it’s a marathon and not a 40 yard dash.
