Title: Fuel sending unit access
Post by: Redstang69 on April 26, 2022, 08:45:47 PM
So I noticed most of you guys cutting a hole in the trunk tub for fuel sending unit access. I'm curious if anyone has actually tried removing their sending unit through that hole. I know with the twisting and angles you have to manipulate that thing to work it out of the hole in the tank, I'm skeptical that it would hit the trunk tub hole and not allow enough movement to actually get it out.
Hope someone has some feedback.

The hole position and size is really dictated by the type of sensor you have. I used a Centroid unit that lifts straight out. If you use the swing arm type, you need to consider the depth the tank is below the trunk floor. In that case, I'd suggest projecting up/out 45 degrees to determine the size of the cover opening.

Ive taken mine out to set the digital gauge. You just need to test while cutting the hole. If you need it bigger....cut it out accordingly:)
