Title: Header to footbox clearance
Post by: Bruce N on October 10, 2021, 08:08:26 PM
After bolting my headers in and re installing the tub. With tub all the way back on the rear frame rail, on drivers side, my header flange is actually touching the footbox. Do I need to move engine forward? Or is this typical? Right now my trans mount fits perfect, so if I move forward, will need to do some mods.

I had the same problem with mine. I took a grinder and took off about 1/8 inch of the flange.  I took off just enough so the header flange cleared the foot box.

Bruce, is it touching on both sides?   I had to rotate my engine slightly because one side was touching and one was very clear.   But now i'm thinking Hurricane changed the engine mounts from my build.  I have flat plates at 45° angle from the frame. you have some tubes welded to the top of the frame. So I dont know if you can rotate.

Only drivers side. Close on the passenger side but have about 1/2" clearance. Was thinking about grinding flange like you say but not sure how the side pipe will line up with it this close? I'll get the body back on and see how that looks and go from there.
