Hello everyone,
I just wanted to Introduce myself. My name is Dusty and I was hired awhile ago as the new lead builder for Hurricane. I believe we put out a great product and we are ready to grow! Our forum is a great source for information but I am here available for all your needs as well.
Good luck and happy building :)

Good morning everyone! Hope your cars are running great or your build is going smoothly 8-)

Glad to have you on board Dusty, I'm sure over the next year to two, I'll have some more questions on HM1081 as I slowly progress.
-
Thanks for the kind words Ken! Hope your build is still going smoothly. If you have any questions or help, dont be affraid to contact us :) That goes for all of our Hurricane friends and family! Well none of us are getting anything done sitting here listening to me so get out there and build, drive or just polish your car 8-)

Well its another Monday and time to get to work. Hopefully everyone had a great wknd ;)

Hi Dusty,
Welcome to the best replica I have ever seen. I am sure enjoying mine. I hope you have a great time building a great product and talking to a bunch of great owners on line. I wish you the best!! 8-)

Hey Dusty,
I'm curious, how long does it take to manufacturer all the components for a new kit?
-
Dan, we can generally get a car shipped complete to someone in typically 6-8 weeks. Could be sooner, but usually I would say its the purchase parts that hold us up. Yes, we are trying to keep plenty of manufactured parts on hand for those of you wanting to change or upgrade.
Thanks

Dusty, welcome. I have a question as well. Are you still using Haywire harnesses? I hope so. Ken at Haywire is a great guy and has been extremely helpful with any wiring questions and anything else you need regarding wiring the car. I have called him numerous times and he has never failed to take the time to walk me thru a problem or return my call if he isn't available at the time I call.
Regards, Sam
-
Sam, yes we are! Seems as tho he puts out a good product and is very helpful with us all. Im glad to hear that you have had a good experience with Haywire as I hope everyone has.
Thanks

Dusty,
Where do you get the glove boxes and what size are they?

Dusty,
Sorry, looks like that option is not offered anymore.
thanks anyway,
George
-
George, yes we are still working on a glove box. It is our own design and looks like the factory ones. Its on our short list of options to get finalized. We did however get side pockets figured out and done. And our own Hurricane floor mats will be done shortly. Let me know if I can assist you in any other way.
Thanks
Dusty

Dusty,
How will these new "after-market" item be sold?
-
Good Morning Ken, yes hopefully soon all the new products will be in the online store. If you was wanting something before that gets done, you may contact us and we can do it over the phone. My boss (the VP Steve) is out till Monday but I can get you a price as soon as he gets back :)
The sky isnt really blue, its the reflection of the water on the earth ;D
Have a great day

Dusty...love your answer re the sky. Maybe you don't know yet, but will the floor mats be avail. in different colors? My interior is gray, so would be interested in a gray set.

Can't wait for the floor mats, hope they are "thick" so they don't "bunch up" from my wife's feet pushing them forward...saying "slow this thing down"! ;D
-
Good morning everyone,
Well it was a long wknd here as it was my birthday and I took Friday off to pay the yearly fees for getting older ;D
I am sorry to say that the floor mats will probably only be available in black. It would just be too hard to match others colors and black goes with everything ;) Well hope everyone had a good wknd and have an even better week!!
Thanks

Here are a couple pics of new floor mats without logo.

Good day, Dusty, and welcome to the fray!
I have a general "builder" question....when I visited the Hurricane factory in Lee's Summit (long, long ago), there was a 289 body sitting on one of Hurricane's frames.
-
Good morning everyone!
Dugly, as of right now all I can say is we are only offering the standard body. But as time goes on, who knows? I am only the builder but I would suspect that we are going to just stay with what we know. There are still plenty of other avenues to look at with available options for the great car we already have. Ie; who wouldn't like to test drive a Hurricane with a jet fueled engine ;D lol. Also who knows if there was to be enough interest in another body design, maybe we would do it.
Well foot to the floor and paint side up 8-)
Thanks
Dusty
-
Guess we better not paint the underside.... ;D ;D ;)
-
Too late Ken, I already did! :-/

Good morning!!!!!
Just wanting to say hello and let everyone know that things are great and hoping all is well with everyone else :)
We are haveing a few new prospective Hurricane owners coming to our facility soon to take a look ;)
I know there are a few done cars out there for sale(sorry for your loss) but to build one on your own is so much fun :D
Have a great day!

Hi Dusty,
Just a note for the "what to supply with a kit" file: if you guys ever do anymore Right Hand Drive cars like mine, you need to replace the standard throttle cable you normally supply, with a 4-6" longer one. While mine will work, if it was any shorter, it would bind. The throttle pedal on a RHD car is almost against the right side of the car body, out board of the master cylinders, hence the extra length needed.
