Title: headlight mount location oval?
Post by: mcondos on October 09, 2007, 08:23:53 PM
Hi guys,  from many of the photos it kinda looks like where the headlights mount to the nose is oval and not round (taller than wide).  Is it just the pics, or is that the case on some cars?  If so, has anyone fixed it and how much work was it?  Looks like the body seam runs right across the headlights and that is what may cause what I think I'm seeing.
Thanks for the inputs,
Mark

Mine are pretty round, they look scraggly due to being cut out for the bucket to fit snug.

Mine are round as well.

Thanks guys, probably the angle of the photos or something, looks much better straight on.

Jim, I'm thinking of same setup you have - 351W (not stroked), tko600RR, 3.2'ish rear.  How's that workin' out?  Cruise OK on the hiway?  Would you change it if done again?
thanks again,
Mark

I only have 200 miles on my Cobra but I made the right choice on the running gear. Highway cruising is perfect for the cam I'm running (it likes 2000 RPM and up). Here in the Northwest, between the traffic and the legal speed limit, 65 - 70 MPH (2200-2400 RPM) is about as fast as you can go. I'm envious of those that have areas where you can cruise at 80+ but there's none around here.

If I changed anything, I might go with a slightly more mild cam.
