Title: Tire size???
Post by: jbrown on October 06, 2007, 05:37:03 PM
Looking at using the bfgoodrich g-force KDW2; however, the largest I can find in 17" are 255/40.  If I go with this tire, I would most likely end up running a 215/45/17 on the front and a 255/40/17 on the rear.  I am concerned if these will appear "small" (even though I will be using 17" wheels).  What suggestions / comments do you have?

Another option I am considering are the goodyear eagle F1GS-3 These I can get in the size I would like 315/35/17 rear and 275/40/17.     Comments?

Thanks in advance.
Jason

I have 315/35/17 on the back of my cobra.  They look bad to the bone. IMO I couldn't imagine any narrower of a tire on the back. I have 11x17 rims with 4" backspacing with IRS.      8-) Darren

Given the high power and low weight of these cars, their performance is generally traction limited.  I think you're likely to be disappointed with the amount of throttle you can use with 255's in the rear.  Just my $0.02.
