I have 2 FE tanks that I started to modify for a small block but decided to go a different route. The cost is free. All I ask is that you must be a Hurricane owner, reimburse the shipping cost and limit 1 tank per person (unless there's only 1 request, then you can have both). Please send an e-mail if interested.
Jim
Put it in the wrong section.
Jim
Put me down for one.
I've emailed you my address info.
Paul
Hey Jim
I would like the other if you still have it. I'll email you my info also.
Larry
Boy, it sure don't take long to get rid free sh!t. Paul & Larry, I sent you an e-mail reply and your tanks will go out on Monday.
Jim
Jim, what are you doing for a tank? I'd like to go the FE style, but the only one I know of for a SB is from Finishline and it's been posted that the newer versions of those don't clear the underside of our hoods. A buddy of mine suggested going to Kirkam. He said they'd likely build me one for a SB.

I decide to go with an upper hose filler and an overflow tank (it works great). I just didn't want to mess with a 40 year tank and the leaks that come with it. Nothing spoils your day like douching your motor with anti-freeze while on a cruise a long way from home. I tried the Finishline tank but it hit the hood. Only cost me $40 in shipping charges to find that out. ::)

I'd like to know what the Ford SB 351W boys are doing for their cars in this respect as pertaining to the Hurricane? Are they using overflow tanks? Or just using inline filler tubes.
Just looking for info guys.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm using both an inline filler and an overflow tank. It works great and I don't have to worry about a failure of an old part when I'm away from home.
Jim
jwd,
Could you possibly post some pic's of your setup in this respect so I can get an idea of what to look for.
Ron
Here ya go Ron.
And the tank. Hope this helps.
Jim
jwd,
How is the overflow tank plumbed to the rest of the system? Does a hose come from the filler neck, or from the radiator? Is the nipple on the overflow tank at the bottom? Is the overflow tank's cap vented in some way? I've been planning a similar setup, but I'm a bit clueless on the details.
Thanks,
-Eric
Eric
There is a hose off the filler neck and connects to the bottom of the tank. The tank is vented via an overflow tube inside the tank that runs from almost the top of the tank and out through the bottom. Hope this helps.
Jim
Jwd,
Thanks for the pic's that helps alot and eric thanks for the many questions I would have probably asked eventually. I swear you can always count on guys on the dark side.
Thanks Again
Ron
Jim.
What brand is the overflow tank?

I picked it up on E-Bay and don't remember what brand it was. Here is one that is very similar. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_370356_-1
