Title: HM1085
Post by: Jim Koepke on March 07, 2007, 06:50:23 AM
Gentlemen:

My name is Jim Koepke and I live in Brownsville MN which is on the Mississippi River in south eastern MN.

I just faxed the contract and mailed the check for HM1085 to Mike. I dropped in on Hurricane unexpectedly on our way home from vacation last week and liked what I saw. They dropped everything and showed my wife and I around during their lunch hour.

Plans call for a Keith Craft 408 short block to mate to my AFR heads, TKO500 Etc.

Looking forward to talking to all of you.

JK

Jim:

Welcome aboard! Nice to have another owner in the state of MN. I'm north of you in Shoreview, a suburb of St. Paul. I took delivery on HM 1066 a couple of weeks ago.

In case you weren't aware of it, we have a great resource nearby, Dave Engle @Carriage House Custom Automotive in Wanamingo, MN

http://www.carriagehousecustoms.com/

Dave is building the engine for my car, and has build a number of Cobras for customers. He's always more than happy to provide advice or input on a variety of build related topics.

Looking forward to sharing the journey with you. Good Luck!

Hi Jim, great to see another one on the way out the door, I sent my contract in about a month ago for HM1081, Eric got 1082, wonder who the lucky guys are that got 1083 and 1084?   Hope the build is fun and everything you hope for.  What did you opt for?  427 or street roadster?  Any  options?   Keep us all up to date on the parts gathering too.   Ken

Welcome to the club Jim! I ordered 1080 about 2 months ago and it looks like it will be arriving any time now. Best of luck on your build ,and now you will be able to go to the darkside and get all the advice you need from those who are building or have built their cars. Randy ;D

All right Jim!!
Welcome to the madness.  It is not easy to sleep knowing how much work has to be done to the car!!
Keep us posted with build pictures and don't be afraid to ask any question. The owners group is great and there is a lot of information available.

A BIG WELCOME FROM LAKE HAVASU CITY, ARIZONA!

Hi Jim and welcome to the Hurricane owners group, You'll get tons of help, suggestions and creative ideas from the owner builders.  Check out Ryan Cassidy's web site for a lot of good stuff, Ryan has one of the nicest Cobras so far and is an example what hard work can do.
Sounds like your plan is a good one and you wil have a great time building it ...I know it tuff waiting, but soon the fun will begin.
I call my car the "Money Pit", but I love it, can't wait for morning to get back to work on #1072.

Best Regards, Bill    ;D

Congrats Jim! I just got hm 1080 delivered today so I guess fuzzys 1081 will come soon . Make sure that you have 4 jack stands and a thin wall socket to get the lugs off of the wheels if you are getting a stage one assembly. The car rolls off the truck and can be pushed by hand into your garage. I used Rich's transport , a very good experience , i would recommend them highly. My car arrived with 11 boxes of parts so make sure that you have a place to put everything ahead of time. Don't freak out if your car is missing some parts. I got a back order sheet with mine because the headers , wheels , and some other parts were not in the shipment. Most of the parts would be used a little later anyway except for the wheels which i really need now so that i can roll it in and out of my garage. Hopefully the wait will be short. ;D
