Title: 289 FIA?
Post by: cobrajunkie on October 30, 2006, 04:36:43 PM
Was just cruising through the archives and noticed a thread that mentioned a 289 FIA car is under development.  Any more on this and when it might be available?

I haven't heard much on it lately. If you gave Mike Arps at Hurricane a call, I'm sure he'd be happy to update you on the status.

In the last email Mike Arps and I bounced back and forth he indicated the chassis would be essentially identical to the 427 model--Mike commented that although a 351C could be used (my engine of choice) that they recommend a more traditional SBF for the 289 model they are developing.

Build it and they will come....   8-)  One of my favorite 289s .  ERA I think.  Notice the slight radius on the bottom sill between the front and rear wheels.

I like the way the side exhaust sort of tucks under the rocker panel, too.
