Title: hurricanes in my area
Post by: herman on June 25, 2006, 07:37:14 PM
Have FFR literature and have been looking at it for some time.  Had about decided on FFR untill I ran across Hurricaned on net.  Very interesting.  Have seen FFR and Unique up close and would like to have an up close and personal experience with a Hurricane.  I am in central Georgia on Lake Sinclair (40 mi. N. or Macon).  Anybody near me with a Hurricane?

Thanks...Mike

Thanks Phil,

Came through J'ville on Sat. AM on way back from a week in New Smyrna.  Should have posted before I left town for the beach.  Great build photos.  Am going to try to hook up with Ryan in Atlanta in a couple of weeks and if I need more input I will contact you for good time to visit  Thanks for the offer....again, a GREAT looking build.

Mike

Holly Cow, Saturday would have been a great time for you to stop by too. Thats when I was installing the Motor and Trans. Ryan is, in my opinion, gonna be your best source for information. Ryan is the one that finalized my decision on going with Hurricane, and its been a great ride sence. I can honestly tell you that if it wasnt for the comerodery of this forum and the support from the Owners, and I do mean "OWNERS", I would not be able to have such a Smooooth build. Everything , literally, has been falling into place.

I second what Phil said. I bought my kit about two months ago and am expecting delivery this friday. I have been reviewing the Owners Forum since and asking questions. Because of thecomarderie of the owners, support and the sharing of ideas, I feel well prepared for the build. You will definetly bee pleased with the Hurricane!

Thanks for all the info and support.  I feel good about this build already and I haven't even started.  Have contacted Hurricane with additional questions and have requested an info packet as well as list of other owners in my area.  Hurricane is at the top of my short list.  I am excited about my visit with Ryan.  His posts and pics are excellent and I am sure he will be a great source of information and support.  Was not impressed with the "other" cobra builder's forum as owners seemed to have multiple problems with fit, assembly, ect.  Also, profanity was used to excess(especially one about Keith Craft).  I am no saint, but that was a little much.  Thanks guys.

Mike, Keith Craft is on my short list of engine builders, so I'd be interested in what was being said. . . . especially if they were pissed enough to use profanity. Could you give me the thread? Kinda surprised, I've heard nothing but good things about both Keith and his engines.
Thanks
Matt

Matt,
Looked for last hour for thread, but could not find.  It was on ffcobra.com site under forums.  I was really refering to language used and not dissing Keith Craft.  Other responders in that thread had only good things to say about KC.  Will continue to look and will post if I find it.

Matt,

Forgot to add this.  Post may have been censored on FFR site or moved to another area.  I noticed that there were some posts asking why their vents were censored.

Matt,

I live in Dallas area, where Keith Craft has a storefront outlet with complete service center for Cobras. I have heard nothing but good news from Texas Club Cobra members. I will be outfitting my Hurricane with a KC 408w or 418w, in the not so distant future (hopefully).

I remember some complaints on the Club Cobra site last year.  IIRC, the complaints were regarding a manager or co-owner of the Dallas business that wasn't giving the best customer service.  I've never heard anything else negative about the KC operation.  If I had the bux he'd be on my top-three-list of folks that I'd want to build me an engine.

Tom,

I was settled on the Engine Factory for a few weeks, but found others could supply more horsepower from the same displacement at the same amount of money or less.

I am not going to be able to swing ($) an aluminum block, so Sheby and Gessford are out of the question. Rousch is on the upper end of my anticipated budget. Who are the other two engine builders that you would consider in the price range of KC Motorsports?

You called 'em.  Roush and Gessford.

Any finished cars in or around the Orlando, Florida area? I'll be vacationing down there next month and would love the opportunity to see a finished car if at all possible.
