Title: Header question
Post by: AngelKing on April 04, 2006, 04:34:52 PM
Curious what headers would work for under-car exhaust in this kit. Motor will be Ford 302/345 crate motor.  Not sure of frame rail placement or any items that would be in the way.

Thanks

If you order the street version of our kit, the undercar exhaust (including headers) is included. The street version of our kit is new and will be 'oficially' available soon. Because of the undercar exhaust, the street version will be priced slightly higher than the S/C version. Give Mike a call at the shop (816) 795-8955 Ext. 11 to discuss the details.

Thanks,
Rich

FFR428,
Yes, we will have under car exhaust for the FE series engine.  That will be the first engine type that we will support.

Hey Mike,

Is the frame & floor panel going to be different or is there room to go under-car with the S/C body & frame?  I've always had thoughts of making a hybrid system with the sidepipes left in place, but having the exhaust headers & mufflers tucked under the car with side-turnouts connecting up to the sidepipes just inboard of the sidepipe exit.  In other words, the sidepipes are merely for show and a quieter and more efficient set of mufflers do the work, but still exit out of the rear of the sidepipes.

????????????

Tom,
Fitting the under car exhaust does require the drivers foot box to be dropped only 2 inches instead of the normal 4 inches.  The exhaust tubing goes right under the floor next the the frame rails.  Other than that everything else is the same.
