I'm still in the shopping, research stage. Was turned on by the FFR kit initially, but Hurricane has caught my attention. Would be interested in hearing your thought process that lead you to select Hurricane.
Any builders around the Minneapolis, St. Paul area?

Anyway, in case you don't know, I've built an FFR (belongs to my brother) and now building my Hurricane. Here's what I posted in another thread:
"I think both are very well made. I've built an FFR and now doing my Hurricane. The things I like about Hurricane are the more accurate body, hood/trunk hinges, better fit and finish to the body, etc.
Customer service is also much better with Hurricane."
I would also add that the body fit of the hood, doors and trunk is much better on the Hurricane than on my brothers MkII FFR.

Welcome Dan... I was up your way a few weeks ago... Wow it was cold... -2.... :-) I'd reccommend the heater option from Hurricane. LOL
I went with a Hurricane for several reasons:
All New Parts
Completeness of the Kit - I didn't want to spend 1/2 build searching for parts
Customer Service. Mike/Rich/Jason were extremely helpful
Period Correctness - Body Lines, Guages, etc.

Thanks for the info. The only concern I have about Hurricane at this point is their relative new-ness in an industry known for companies going out of business. Do you have any insight into their operation, stability, etc? I'll ask the company directly when I get serious, but I assume you have a POV.
The thing that attracted me to Hurricane is that it's a 'complete' non-donor kit that allows you to do the assembly but provides everything short of the drive-train. Considering a FFR kit is $13K, that put's the cost of new parts from Hurricane at $3K, based on their current $16K price. Even if I went with FFR, I wouldn't be doing a true donor build since I don't have space to park a hulk during the build, so I'd be doing a pallet - donor, or mainly new parts anyways. Hence my interest in Hurricane. If I were going to buy all new/reconditioned parts for a FFR build, am I going to spend $3k that I'd be paying to have Hurricane pull it all together for me?

I know what your concerned about with companies starting and leaving quickly in the business. I thought about the same thing and have seen a couple manufacturers that I was interested in leave or change ownership.
Hi Dan , if you are interested in looking at what your 16K will by you I am in Wi. about 4 1/2 hrs from the twin cities.
I bought my cobra for all the same reasons you have read above. I also had concerns about a new group , but if you look at what they are doing , you can tell they are on the way up. This forum is something I don't think you would get somewhere else. Their customer service is realy great.

I too looked long and hard at the FFR. I felt pretty secure in their, "#1 selling kit" hooplah. Then after looking at several, I just didn't like the shape. At first I couldn't see it, but after looking at a lot of cars, I can now spot a FFR from a mile away. I was also not happy with their hood & trunk hinges. I think that they are the #1 seller because of their superior marketing. Their cars are definitely not superior.
I looked at a lot of other cars and finally settled on the Hurricane after looking at their finished cars as well as their raw fresh-out-of-the-mold bodies.
Not only did I find that ther quality was top rate, but the value is outstanding when you consider just what you get for your $$$.
