Craig,

Your car looks great!  It will be interesting to see how your build goes with the painting done before the mechanicals.  I'mm sure you get a boost just looking at it.

Regards,
Chris

Looking good Craig. Now for the fun part, getting it together.  ;D ;D ;D

What's that, is that a knobby tire I see on the wall? Not another MX'er joining the Hurricane ranks is it?

I see you have the engine ready to go too. You'll be on the road before you know it. Good luck.

Mike

QuoteNo not much of a mx guy do mostly off road racing ,got the car cause I thought it would a little e-zer on the body lol.....

LOL- yep, me too,  I raced for quite a few years. I started to find it hard to keep up with the younger guys, so I got back into cars. I still miss it though.  ;D ;D ;D  I still think about getting another bike just to do a little play riding.

Craig,  Your car looks really great..I'm thinkin maybe I should have had them paint mine too...O'well too late now.

I got mine down to the frame and have installed the brakes (repacted the wheel bearings), installed the pin drive adapters, ran the fuel line and installed the parking brake.  I'll finish up the brake lines and then start on the fuel tank. Make sure you fill the rearend with oil, they come bone dry.
Still waiting for my motor from Southern Automotive, I guess those guys down south in Georga work as slow as they talk, anyway it should be here soon.

Good luck with your build, Bill   ;D

Looks good.  I'm still really jealous of you having the bodywork and paint done for you by the boys at Hurricane.  I decided to do 90% of the bodywork before taking the body off for the first time.  :'(

It does look good. Nice job.  Just a suggestion, you could probably close up the oval on the safety hoop seeing that you have an IRS and the pumpkin doesn't move.  It would make it safer by containing the driveshaft better.

Looking great I see you have the inner fender liners in did you have to flatten the 90 bend that goes torward the outside of the car?
did you need to trim around the shocktowers
In my application (very wide motor) I needed to flatten them  I like the idea of cutting it in half if I need to access the pipes
Title: Re: home at last
Post by: 8milebaker on May 28, 2007, 11:25:19 AM
I didn't flattin the 90 , I cut around the tower because they rubbed, the pass. side the pipes will  come out with no mods.

Craig,

Your car is really looking good, you've done a lot  of inovative things that add to the quality of your build.    I especially like the engine compartment work, everything fits good with "that big fat motor" fillin up the space.

I'm just waiting for my body to get done so it can be reinstalled on the car. Then its put the remaining stuff ....front end cooler, interior and accessories together and it will be pretty done.
I still plan on giving you a call when I come to LA  (Torrance) somtime this winter and taking a look at your car.

Best of Luck and continued success,  Bill   ;D

One comment you'll be getting from folks is "man this looks so much like an original I can't believe its a replica". In addition, you'll get the comments from some old guys that say, "This is just like my Shelby I had back in 1965, what a blast! "     ;D

I'll be coming to LA over Thankisgiving week from Havasu City with my Hurricane, perhaps we can get together?
