Title: HM1106 Arrived
Post by: Ranman on September 06, 2007, 10:48:23 AM
Well HM1106 arrived at my home on Labor day, Stewart Transportation did a OUTSTANDING job, 100% care was taken with my car. Would recommend them to all.

Now I can say let the fun begin, I went with the Stage 1 assy, purchased the 15" Helibrand style rims from hurricane, and had it brought to me with the tires mounted and balanced thanks to the great staff at Hurricane.

Starting the parts inventory, and having a hard time sleeping thru the night,  you start thinking and before you know it your wide awake for hours.

Congrats. Now you'll have something to do this winter. Thankfully, I'm way past those sleepless nights but I sure had lot of them when I was building the car. Better get a RX for a sleep aid  ;D

I also bought the wheels from HMS and the backs fit great ...the fronts...not so great.

Ranman, from the looks of the back ground, seems a set of dirt track tires mounted on some old rims would be fun prior to paint and finishing during the test phase....enjoy the build, Stewarts are going to be picking mine up in the near future so hope I have the same experience.

Chris , you are worrying me, I bought the wheels too, what's the problem?

The wheels are fine it is the fiberglass inserts that give the wheel the vintage look that are giving me trouble.  The backs went on great but the fronts dont fit the way they should.  I am going to call the guys and send some pics...something is not right.

Just fit mine in place also, the back rims are right on.
The front fit is not right, its like the indent part is to deep, the front lip should be back 3/16-1/4 inch, so it would fit into the rim like the back.
