Dan, she looks beautiful. Congrats on a beautiful car!
The ride height looks perfect. Did you have to monkey with different height/weight springs, or are those that came with the kit?
I also like the tail lights and how you rounded off where they mount.
Another question: is the side view mirror usable or does it vibrate so much that all you see is blurred images? Some have cited that as the reason why they went with Raydots mounted on the windshield frame.
Again, congrats on a beautiful car.
Matt
Thanks Matt. This has been a very fun project and now even more fun driving the heck out of it.
The springs in the car are what came with it and the side mirror doesn't vibrate very much and is "usable" but it's still so small it's hard to see very much out of it. I just turn my head most of the time.
Now to name her..... Hmmmm :-/
Dan
Very Nice Indeed! ;D
It has the classic look with a touch of "cuteness", so how about Peggy Sue[/b?You know...I love you my Peggy Sue....... or perhaps Hot Little Mamma
Nice job Dan..now have some fun.
Best of luck, Bill ;)
Dan,
Man that is one sweeet ride!!! Now comes the fun part of driving one of the best cars in America. 8-)
Awesome job Dan!
Larry
Nice job and just in time for summer.
Jim
Dan, love those white pipes.
I'm still waiting on my headers to fit right, but when they do I want to go with white also.
Just called Jet-hot to talk about the coatings and the no longer offer white, Swain Tech Coatings does white, but said it can be marred making it look blemished in spots. What coating do you have? any problems with it?
Randy
I have the Swain Tech coating. I had them coated, then I sanded it down smooth with 220 grit. It just takes off the high spots and doesn't effect the coating properties. Then I sprayed with VHT white high temp paint.
They are very easy to clean up and re-touch if something gets on them. They are also a lot cooler when the engine is running and they cool down real fast.
The Swain tech coating is kind of a silvery white that's kind of like sandpaper to the touch. I'm glad I went this route.
Dan
Went to my first judged show this past Saturday. Got a trophy too. Woo-Hoo. Nothing to spectacular, they gave out trophies to 80 of the total entries and I was one of them. There were approximately 175-200 cars there. (rough guess)
Here is a picture of my baby at the show as well as the placard I made up for the windshield. It "proudly" says Hurricane 427 Roadster.
Many people asked who's kit it was and quite a few of them were surprised. 3 even copied down the name and web address.

That's such a beautiful car, hope mine comes out half as nice. Any problem with registering with the blue dot headlights?
Thanks. I'm sure yours will be awesome too.
No issues here in FLA with the headlights. No inspections.
Dan
Okay, to say it was a GREAT day is an understatement. Went to a show today and the Hooters Girls voted my car the Hooters Choice Award. WOO-HOO. GOt some great pics. Check 'em out
Dan
did I say this was a GREAT day........ :o

Congrats Dan!
Can you post a few pics of your car?
Larry
Wait... I just noticed...your car IS in the pics!
Sorry, my bad! ;D
Larry
what car?
Dan, great pictures! ;D , You ought to make up some business cards with the "Hooter girls" on them. The cards would become real prizes for your friends and also help them remember that your car is a Hurricane SC 427.
Be proud, you have one of the best built. ;)
I also noticed that you have the latest in folding chairs..with a built in sun shade..very cool. :D
Best Regards, Bill
Great pics. It took a while but I did finally notice your car was in them. Larry and I must be afflicted with the same eye problem ;D Your car looks awesome. Great job.
Jim
Dan,
I have been thru all the build pieces that came with my car and I can't find the box that has the four Hooter girls in it. Was it special marked or something? What should I be looking for? I do have a permission slip from my wife (she say's I'm harmless) so that's not a problem.
? ? ? :P
Paul
ps: surely, they will accompany you to London? look forward to the display
Thanks guys. It was truly a great day. I went to Hooters today and gave them copies of the pics and they said they would put them on the wall.
I'll have to go back and get them to sign one for me to frame.
Paul,
Keep looking. It took me 1 year and 5 months to find that elusive box. The only markings I could find on it were, "Handle with care, and objects may be bigger than they appear."
I guess the saying is true, "Cobras are like boobs, even the fake ones are awesome"..... [smiley=beer.gif]

[size=12]Well deserved award, Dan.
Eric
You have good taste. She's definately my favorite as well. I'm glad you didn't get in trouble with one of those in Reno. It's all I could do to keep Steve from dragging us out to the Mustang Ranch. ;)
